WTB: Flippac Rain Fly

Anyone have a Flippac rain fly they want to sell? We've tried a few times with FRP products and they have never had them in stock. Unfortunately, due to their 'legendary' customer service they can never seem to call me when they do come in. They are out now and suggested I call back next week. Does anyone know of one for sale anywhere? AT doesn't have them in stock and is also waiting on them, I suspect for the same reasons I am.

I was thinking of making my own. I twice worked for a sailmaker/canvas loft and am friendly with my local sailmaker. He could do one for me pretty inexpensively, I think. And I think I could improve on the design. If I could make two, some of the templating costs may go down. The best part is that we could have them done quickly.

What size is your FP? Of is it one size fits all?

Are there others interested? The more we can build the cheaper they will be. If we can get a bead on quantity, I will get a cost.

There are a few types of cloth that would be good, all of them waterproof. Here is a link to the site and page that discusses materials. Poly, Sunbrella, and Top Gun would all be good solutions. Top Gun would be especially good for windy conditions. http://www.slosailandcanvas.com/servlet/the-template/materials/Page#Covers

Anyway, I will talk this over with them and get some ideas on costs.

Business as usual over there. The problem is, the FlipPac is but a fraction of their business and if anything it is Homer's (the owner) sideline gig. They make everything else out of fiberglass that you can imagine (think water park) and that keeps them busy save for the occasional run of FP shells. The rain flys are made somewhere else, they've gone through a few different vendors for them over the years. The newer gen one that I purchased from AT is quite nice.

Best bet is to go through AT, Mario knows as much about their stuff as they do ;)

If you end up trying to improve the design though, I have a specimen :)
