XJ Motor Mount disintegrated...

The mount on my XJ disintegrated again.
The first one I could understand. It was the original.
But this one is only 2 years old and just gone.
Unfortunately , its from napa and only had the 12/12 on it.
Went and bought one from Autozone with their limited lifetime and give it a shot. If not, I guess I'll chance the aftermarket heavyduty ones.
Check thouse mounts , people.....

Energy makes a HD Urethane mount that should outlast the OE rubber mounts by far, PN# 2.1104G and they run about $50 for the pair. At least its the mount failing, the FJ Cruiser guys are finding out the mount it tearing off the frame, and taking a big chunk of the frame with it in some instances... Ouch!

Got the new one in with a little grinding. But as luck would have it, there is now a noise coming from the transmission. Sounds like it could be loose bolts. Hopefully an easy fix.
Oh and the stock exhaust manifold decided to reveal it's crack today. Luckily, I bought one a couple of years back that has the flex tubing in preperation for this day. Only it happened on the day I was going to get it smogged and now that is a no go......if it ain't on thing - it's another...:costumed-smiley-007

Have you checked your tranny mount? If it's broke it puts more stress on the motor mounts. It's made like a motor mount and could also be a problem.

I have M.O.R.E. boom proof mounts on mine and they are great. I will say that you will get some vibes in the Jeep mostly at idle because of it being a unibody and the fact that the mounts are a poly/rubber blend. Vibes are lost through the body mounts on TJs but not in an XJ.

I've got M.O.R.E.'s on my XJ too and they do indeed transmit any little engine vibrations in the passenger compartment. (the new 703 Neon injectors helped a lot)

Fixed the thumping coming from the transmission. The torque converter bolts were loose....just how they came loose, who knows...but one less thing to worry about.....now on to the exhaust manifold...
