So forgot I had some dealership owes a little while ago.

What was happening:

The rpms while in drive and idling were at 625. Then when load was added to the electrical(windows, power steering, ac, ect.) The rpms would dip into the low 500 and the truck would shake and recover. I know the rpms drop in ever vehicle but not
Like this.

1st day in they same nothing wrong, rpms are in the proper range. Took the tech out to the truck and showed him and he said, "oh OK that's not right. But that's not what I was looking for."

2nd day they tell me Nissan engineers are aware of the issue but don't have enough data to figure it out. So it was happening with other trucks apparently.

3rd nothing
and 4th day in I called and they say it's ready. Go in to get it and hear that there is nothing wrong with it and it's my aftermarket exhaust causing a drone at idle.
WHAT? Well I didn't bring it in for a noise. They kept saying the only issue was the exhaust.

So I said ok, write it down, date and sign stating that fact. I delt with the whole aftermarket parts thing with dealers b4 so I wanted it in writting.
They wouldn't write anything about the original problem even though I had work orders for the issue written by them. Only thing they would say is exhaust causing the drone.
I got pissed and left only to find out they raised the rpms by 100 fixing the entire issue but wouldn't say they did. What a joke. I originally told them this would most likely fix it so I'm thinking the tech did it and didn't say anything for some reason.

You know interestingly, my Nissan dealership has been a pleasure compared to the Jeep dealer. Must just be lucky, we'll see what happens with my latest check engine issue though...

This has been the only issue I've had with mine. For the hassle it was, the problem was fix. Don't know how, but it was.
They have been good otherwise. I never had good luck at jeep either.

Well Winters over and I've done some minor stuff to the truck so I thought I better get back into the expo game.

Lots of this went on during the cold.

Let the driveway go all natural this winter. As in didn't shovel. It got interesting in the spring.

The Xterra took me around Montana to ski resorts all winter and did a good job of it.
BFG ko2s rocked the ice and snow.

My obsession with organizing took over the back. Love these rigid boxes so much!

Then this happened.

NissTec Radflo Extended Travel Ultimate Kit. Up front is radflo 2.0 coil overs and spc control arms.

Out back is OME MD leaf pack and radflo 2.0 emulsion shocks.

I also installed cam bolts so the alignment was super easy to dial in. Only have about an inch of lift in the back so I set the front to match.

I'm trying to hunt down some noise in the rear shocks that is making me a little bit crazy. It sounds like a tool rolling around at slow speeds over bumps.

Pulled the shock off yesterday, test drove it and the noise was gone. Put them back on and it's back. So there is that going on.
I believe my issue is in the hemi joint on the bottom of the shocks. It's metal on metal on metal and I think the bolt is moving just enough to make a rattle.
I'm going to find out if I can get a different bolt and go fron there.

Lots of plans for this summer so I need to rectify that soon.

Looks good brother. I also have a noise, but I am no where near a lucky to get it in my shock. I redid all hardware with the approapte size to get rid of the little jump in sizes Nissan does with their stuff. Ill pull invoices later and see if I can get you a size I used on mine, but my shocks are solid. I also have the Iron shock skids, but you can pull about 0.5" out of the length to get an equivalent. My noise comes from the leafs. First season was fine. Second season after the salt had their way with the springs, the dam things make more noise than a midget hooker in an old fashioned spring bed. I am just getting use to it but have found out that Fluid Film works good for a few weeks unless you go into dirt which the film then attracts and makes noise worse than before. I can use a pressure washer and blow the crap out of it and it will be good for a few days, after which, more noise. WD40 works good for a few days, but then the noise returns. It really comes out in turns but over bumps and such when it is really bad. Im half tempted to just toss the ARB pack with a Alcan pack, but Im learning to live with the noise, but the ARBs do hold up DAM well. I have the HD pack. I have tossed over 300lbs in the rear of the X, with the Tepui Autana Ruggedized tent on top, then tossed 550lbs of human flesh into the tent. The springs only dropped 0.7". Talk about awesome! The noise FYI comes from the lack of isolators on the leafs. You will notice them only on 2 of the 6 or 7 leafs depending on your setup. Its the top 1 or 2 leafs that grind the military coil near the shackle. I have some good videos of it here.

Nice finding your issue. I may have to get a camera under there to figure mine out too. I'm positive my rear radflos are the issue now. Put the stock shocks back on and the noise is gone.

Latest project 95% done.
Hefty Fabworks aluminum bumper.
Warn vr8000 with synthetic line.
Vision X optimus dual driving lights.
Cut out the honeycomb grill and installed aluminum mesh from Custom Car Grills.

The grill took me forever and a day. Or more like a day and a half. Didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. It is now a one piece grill instead of two pieces.

Sandwiched the mesh between the two parts and glued everything in place. It's solid and I think looks great.

Plenty of room to access stuff.

These are amazing lights.

I also have a set of the 4.5 light cannons new with amber covets for sale right now for a steal!

Out back I installed a set of Timbren off road bump stops.

Only thing left to do is move the controller socket from the top of the control box to the front. Then I'm pretty much set!

Thanks! I believe they are a 20 degree reflector so they have amazing distance.
