Xterra Storage Boxes Lets See Yours!

I think all of the major ones will. I believe a few guys from NewX.org have mounted Camping Labs and others up there.

BTW, I have Thule crossbars mounted on the oem rack to transfer the weight to the metal side bars. The stock cross bars are mostly plastic and I don't think would handle the load.

I use a combination between Pelican cases in the rear, custom made drawers, and fridge mount, plus Akro-Mills totes with Engel fridge feet that slide in to the Engel Slide-Locks.

You guys have inspired me.

I will be spending the winter drawing up plans and collecting material for my springtime storage build up.

Edit: One question. For camping, do you think a hitch mounted table or one that slides out of the back of the X would be better for the cooking/eating needs of a family of 3?

Your set up looks good! I love the way you cut it to fit tightly to the sides, but something I would think about would be an enclosure for the batteries.. Besides the fact that they can emit gases.. (I dont know if the gases are poisonous, but its probably not a smell you want in your truck) But also for the fact that you definitely dont want something to go down on top of those terminals and shorting it out.

Gel and AGM batteries are okay in an enclosed area but any liquid battery has to be vented to the ouside. They can offgas hydrogen or leak posing a fire hazard. Covering the terminals is a good idea!

Here is mine. I bought this for $60 from a guy on craigslist who had sold his X and wanted it out of this garage. He had it custom built for around $400 (according to him) with 300lb drawer slides and very HD. It has served me well to store all my tools, spare parts, and misc off road recovery stuff.

Since I'm nearly finished why not:

Updated 11-30-2015

Here's the final setup, minus the bridging upper deck that I'll probably be doing this week. I just have to figure out the removable attachments.
