Your Thoughts on Limb Risers?

Hi guys/girls,

I am in the Hudson Valley of New York State with a 2016 JKU, I wanted to bring up for discussion from folks that have experience with limb risers as to your current thoughts, if you wish you had installed sooner or never at all (i.e. had to drill holes and regret it, etc.).

Thanks.

Jeff P.

I think they are most useful if you have a roof rack, light bar, or something similar that can "catch" branches. Running them from the brush bar to the rack is pretty easy.

Jeep display in Moab had a set-up with a light cable that went up to the Autohome RTT. The problem with it was that you did not have a quick release turnbuckle to remove it, so you could open the tent. It looked cool for the "wow :Wow1:factor" but would not work in the real world.

I remember seeing that. It's always a shame to see something that has been built up to look cool but makes it non-functional.

We run them on our jeep and they have come in handy in the trees. Don't regret them. Our jeep doesn't have a rack or light bar up high. Ours is from off-road elements and is a great product and service is first class.

I've never seen the need here in the forested hills/mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky. I have no problem with "nature's pinstripping" on my Jeep, and I figure if I'm driving fast enough through overgrowth for a branch to bust out my windshield, then I am a dummy and deserve to bust my windshield.

Man, that is one good looking rig!
Any issues in the heavy branches with the driver's side antenna?

Ya it will catch and I have bent the mount in heavy bush but not a big deal. I didn't want to mount it at the back and it's removable.

I have them, however I rarely use them - and lots of our wheeling is in the bush. However that one time I didn't use them... I had a branch scrap the **** out of my hood on the drivers side - so now I see it all the time.

I think are pretty useful and have a nice cool factor to them, however, I feel that you can make your own for what they cost brand to brand. I really see no use in buying a kit that costs $80 when it's $20 worth of hardware at Home Depot or Lowes.

I don't really have an opinion. I just know that I have cleaned plenty of pine sap off of my flattys and have never broken a windshield, yet. Pin stripes? It's a friggin' Jeep.
