Zodi choices... HELP

I have the Extreme with out the heating element. I simple put it on my Cook Partners stove top to heat it up. The one plus for the Extreme is the ability to move away from your campsite to take a shower. This means no mess in your campsite. I am not sure if it has changed but I do recall most folks replace the sprayer head with one from your local hardware store. The sprayer needs a shut off valve. Saves water while you are soaping up.

Extreme here with showerhead mods done to it.
There is info in this section on the mod I did to it.

Very happy with the shower.

Can't see which products you're trying to make up your mind on as the links are broken but I can tell you that I like the Zodi Hot Tap HP Double Burner Shower because it's really user-friendly and you don't have to wait 10-20 minutes for the water to heat up before taking a shower. The water heats up instantly as it passes though the coil and within 10 seconds it's warm enough for a shower.

I would say that the only drawbacks this Zodi Shower has is that the 6 volt pump included with the unit is not powerful enough to provide good water pressure so you might want to replace it with a 12 volt pump and the pump requires 4 "D" batteries to operate so if the batteries die you're out of luck.

We had that silly pump, it failed on our second use. Made noise, just didn't pump unless you had the shower head 2 inches above the reservoir. Zodi's warranty covered everything except the pump - they told us we had to buy a new one. We were very upset with them.

I have not found an appropriate pump to replace it with. I have a windshield washer pump which is too powerful, and a small bilge pump which is not powerful enough. I am on my 4th or 5th iteration, and am about ready to throw the whole Zodi setup in the trash.

I just went through the same dilemma - I ended up with the Zodi Extreme. Here is why:

- Self contained. It is smaller yes, but it is totally clutter free. I dont need a hose in another bucket and a burner set up. To me, the Hot Tap versions are for more permanent base camps, or a lot of showers.

- Simple. No batteries, no pumps, no burner (once hot) while showering

I would go for a hot tap if you have a lot of people to shower, a lot of water and a semi permanent camp. If not, Extreme all the way.

I bought my Extreme from here: http://www.manventureoutpost.com/products/Zodi-Outback-Gear-8170-Extreme-SC-w%7B47%7DStove%2CSoft-Case.html

It was $121 + shipping (including soft case and burner)

If you go for a hot tap, walmart has them for $88 (and maybe Costco)
