wanted to get some info on the zodi shower that is for sale from AT , it is the one with the stainless steel container and no batteries needed

I just bought one , it arrived yesterday.

Very nice, carrying case, and heats up pretty quick.

Yes, I tested it on my porch today :D

I have a vid on my camera of it, I may YouTube it later.
It put out a good stream with the stock head on it.
However I want to change out the head later for one with an on/off switch.

You can make your own for less than half the price, using a stainless insecticide sprayer and some plumbing parts. Why pay for the Zodi name?

I have $50-60 into mine. Already had a camp stove.

What capacity is that? It looks half as tall as a ZODI.

Same as the ZODI then. Must be just the way the picture was taken. Very cool.

What did you do for the burner?

Took longer to go get the parts.

Were you able to find the SS sprayer on the shelf somewhere or did you have order it? I've looked when at the box stores and they only seem to carry plastic in the store.

Zodi has us on back order with this unit for 14 - 16 weeks. We are looking into alternatives.

I think I paid 120 bucks for my zodi from Costco. It is 3.5 gallon capacity, with leaving room for the compressed air. Shower head sucks, but other than that, its good to go. The burner it comes with is nice, but if you already have one (I did not), it makes more sense to build your own if you have the ability and parts.

Has anyone had any trouble using these at high elevation? I tried it on our trip to the Huachucas, somewhere around 8000 feet and it only got up to 80 degrees or so. I kinda forgot about it and tried it again the other night around 8000 or so and the same thing.

I did a few searches and came up empty. It is interesting to note though that the Zodi site says their burner/valve is designed for high elevation use.

Am I doing something wrong? Is my burner defective? Or is 5000 feet high elevation to the Zodi engineers. I need to figure something out since so much of our camping in the summers out west is at high elevation.

Zodi used to just sell the shower unit no burner. It was then repackaged with a burner and stand. Our recommendation if you have a good stove is to throw the Zodi burner away, or use it as a spare.

I have used it with my compressor a few times regulated down to 20Psi, but it wastes a lot of water. I now just use my hand pump, as its much easier.

I made a few changes to my shower head, and now it works like I think it should. http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12422
