I have no idea how the Tahoe is set up, but my Suburban has a second tank (factory) up above the spare tire. Has anybody looked into the feasibility of adapting such a thing to the Tahoe? I expect there would be some space challenges, but if GM fit a tank above the spare tire in one chassis...

Front frame plating and a steering box brace are good medicine for an XJ, especially as you increase tire size. I like Boostwerks' design that incorporates a winch mount as well: BWE Comp Mount

Similar to Jeronimo, I have used one to tow a Cherokee (XJ) behind my Suburban (3/4 ton, 8.1L, Autoride). No issues, wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Your choice of tow vehicles is just as important (if not more so) than your choice of trailers.

I spent a good portion of my youth inflating automotive tires with a bike pump. My father never was one to spend money on a good tool, especially not when he had children who he could task with the job. It works. It just takes time.

Any update on the XO Coupling for the US? I am still only seeing it in Australia for 50mm tow balls.

I have a cousin with a '95 of the same configuration. I think it has served his family well. I think they have had some issues with door handles/hardware. Check to make sure all the doors open from both the inside and outside handles. If power locks, check that they actuate both ways on each...
