I went from a 2 door XJ to a '00 Tacoma TRD and the difference was slight. The XJ had a 4.5" lift, rear Detroit and 4.56's. I took my Taco everywhere that the XJ went in Moab, with no problem other than now and then hitting the frame. Best part it was more comfortable, faster, and better...

Yeah, that's true.......my Hella 450's are good enough. Plus, I took the rack off anyway, so no where to mount lights! :clapsmile

I've asked a SLC PD officer once and according to him, you're okay with roof/roof rack mounted lights. Just do not turn them on on the streets, or they'll pull you over. Maybe I should add more lights to mine?

Are you referring to the area underneath the center console cubby area? On 96 and older that area is pretty much taken up by the heater ducts that go to the back seat area. That's what the vents are on older XJ's.......do the 97+ XJ's not do this anymore?
