Axe, the JATE rings work very well if you run a short tree strap across both of them to distribute the load, and pull off a solid ring in the middle of the strap. I never had more than the stock bumper and JATE rings on my RRC's. worked fine. An HD bumper with Dixon-Bates is indeed a lot...

Fit magnetic drain plugs to the diffs and the oil pan when you do the fluids. I prefer to cycle a quart of ATF through an oil change instead of using seafoam as it's milder. only do this with a fresh oil change and have 2 new filters on hand. put in the ATF and drive it for an hour or two...

ahh - gotcha. If the fuel filter is clogged, it's nearly a certainty that the fuel pump is in decline. They end up working too hard against the clogged filter and it sends them downhill. sumptin to consider replacing sooner than later!

It's probably a good idea to just go ahead and refresh all the ignition stuff and do a thorough tune-up. new coil, ignition amplifier, cap 'n rotor, plugs, and good plug wires. stick with stock parts and avoid the temptation of using a hotter coil - the ecu hates it. congrats on the new rig...
