10-12 MPG no matter what you do, tow a tug boat or coast down a hill with a tail wind. The system creates the criteria, from what I have found there's nothing that improves fuel economy better than being parked.

used a combination of dynamat - 3/4" plywood t&g - a layer of jute for insulation- and finally to top it off I used G-Floor . 5 years and so far the floor has held up nicely.
if budget permits get yourself a newer model E350 and build it slowly as need dictates. You can't really go wrong with it and the right gearing and a rear locker can get most places safely.

Thanks for the sweaty palms pictorial. I enjoyed them. Steep declines are no fun and I know the feeling of standing on the brakes so hard the ABS took over and was pulsing all the way down. I know at Atlas will solve most of it and lower rear end would help also, just don't want to lose any GPMs...

The eraser wheel needs to be used in the appropriate pneumatic tool with correct speed of 4000 RPM . If spun to fast or slow bad happens, you can burn the paint if you stay too long in one spot, however it should work.
If rubber wheel is used in normal die grinder @ 18000 RPM it will fly apart...
