+1. I paid $526, for 5 tires (31x10.5x15 ATs), delivered to my door.

    Just got my XJ....

Wow. $26? I have a great driving record with no tickets, on a 94 XJ Country and my insurance is $400/6 mos...and that isn't full coverage.

    Treadwrights and rain

I wanted to report on the tires during my trip to Missouri over this last long weekend. I put about 1,900 miles on my new Warden AT's and my average mileage increased 1.5 mpg, over the Mickey Thompson Baja's. They have a small hum, but they far surpass my expectations and I can talk in a...

Classic awful mechanic making it hard for the good ones

Isn't that the truth. You would think, in this economy, that people would be making sure they had great customer service, so business would be good. If they aren't smart enough to know that, then they shouldn't be in business.

    Treadwrights and rain

Where are the pics man?? I am leaving in the morning for a trip to Missouri, so I will be reporting on the gas mileage. I hope to see a noticeable improvement with the less aggressive and narrower tread. These really ride well.

    Treadwrights and rain

Maximus, here ya go. They came in today and I had them mounted. These are the Warden AT 31x10.5x15. 1. They are about 1" taller than the 31x10.5.15 Mickey Thompson Baja MT's I am replacing, even though they are the same listed size. 2. They are about 1.5" narrower than the Bajas, which has...

    Treadwrights and rain

I ordered a set (5) of the Warden ATs in 31x10.5x15, and they should be here on Thursday. These are the ones that you are supposed to get about 60K out of. We shall see. They are going on a 1994 Jeep XJ.

And it begins. Stump XJ's trailer build.

That looks really nice SlimTwo. You guys are an inspiration to newbies. This beats the heck out of backpack camping.

    Bears and Overlanding

If something that can cover 30 to 40 feet per second decides to charge, bluff or not, I will be doing my best to kill it. Maybe I will kill it, maybe it will kill me, but I would not be taking the "awww look at the pretty bear" approach. Wind works both ways. When you spray the bear when they...

It starts with a boat trailer

Yesterday, as most days, I was looking for inexpensive trailers on Craigslist. I kept coming up with boat trailers in my search. Since then I have been wondering how that might work for a trailer. I will be subscribing to see what you come up with.

    Bears and Overlanding

What about using a portable electric fence while camping? I understand that backcountry packers use them to keep their horses in, and bears out.

    PVC Safe for water?

That is correct. Main water lines in subdivisions up to 8" are usually C900 PVC. Feed to your house, and all the plumbing in it, if the house was built in the last 20 years, is also PVC. As mentioned before, non-union homes also have a good chance of having CPVC. Your irrigation lines and...
