The not-so-definitive guide to Sienna seats

I have Sienna recliners in my van if you need some measurements. Mine are out of an '11, they are grey with grey bases. If a rough measurement will suffice they are about thiiiiiiiiis big... :ylsmoke:

    So whats the future?

That Euro front bumper is sharp, too bad it doesn't make it to the states. I wonder if it is not compliant or Ford just wants us to suffer. The US version is huge!

Gallivanter: An Ominous Beginning and an Optimistic Future

Sounds like a great start. You had me thinking about what made me realize the joys of vans and honest it mostly came from build threads here and at ADV. I agree with your thoughts on what makes them so cool and how they express ourselves. Mine is a '15 Transit I bought last feb - road trip VT to...

    Volkswagen Vanagon 4x4 Conversion.

Wow nice build! My fabrication skills are on a whole other level. Lower! My wife grew up in Athens, fun town.

Ford Transit Quigley vs Sprinter 4x4?

VanCompass does a lift for the Transits and fits a 32" or so tire. Their claim is the larger tire drops gearing in a way that Ford can still dial a factory calibration. I have 3.73 in my van, if I fit the 32" tires that would put me pretty close to a 3.31 rear end and the dealer can set it as...

    Sofa Bed Ideas

Sbaircraft, have you got any more info on your bed/couch? Does it fold up against the wall too? Any seat belts? I am seriously thinking about losing a seat and putting a goucho along the side.

    Sofa Bed Ideas

Looks great! Would that sofa be able to straddle the wheel well to mount it all the way back?

    "Q" Flight's RB E250 Quigley Build

Great build - seems you have done this before! Regarding the tape covering all the holes inside - why is this done? Is it for sound, thermal, or both? I have seen similar done with CLD tiles too. Do you think there is a higher risk of moisture in there?

Quick! Someone else buy this before it leads to my divorce!

Well the stereo sure looks cool. I like the 'Super Extra' badging.

The not-so-definitive guide to Sienna seats

In the stock Sienna vans the seats sit about 2" off the floor. Mounting them significantly higher would make them odd for all but the tallest. You could either fab or source a taller one but pre built options are few. How is the view out the sides? I have a Transit, the seats are about 1" off...

    insulation or dynamat under bedrug?

I had great results with closed cell foam and MLV. Can't hear any floor noise now, just everywhere else! Dynamat is just to dampen out panel vibration/noise - I don't think you would notice a huge difference.

    Wayfarer Vans minimalist conversion kit

Looks pretty cool! I think there are people willing to pay for the convenience. Personally, the sight of 746692002 magnets would make me insane.

    I'M BATVAN! ...a 2006 E350 V10 DIY Ujoint Conversion

Yeah this is a great build out! The slider is great - I want one too but originally I just wanted one for a fridge. Bed folding into a bulkhead is great too, I don't think I have the engineering chops to get it done though. I want my setup to hold one bike inside, gotta see if this would give...

A "what to buy" question - E350, F250, Extended or Not

For similar $ you could find a lightly used Transit. 4wd is an expensive retrofit but you may be able to make do with a locker. They have vans with diesels, not big burly old school but still diesel clatter lol. There are other downsides to the Transits, they don't look quite as cool - stock...

The not-so-definitive guide to Sienna seats

I thought about it, does that count? :ylsmoke: Mg posted a picture of the mechanism earlier in this thread - under the left cover there are two "ears", one that limits travel to the front, one that limits the recline distance. What I can't figure out is what gives the seatback the detents that...

    Blueford T Justice- 2006 E250 4x4

+1 I have yet to post my van build as the name is sorely lacking in the cool factor. This entire section is infested with creative names.

    First time van buyer

+1 I spent about 2 years researching, 8 months to find the right rig. Drove 800 miles to get it. Couldn't be happier!

The not-so-definitive guide to Sienna seats

Well that is a lot of questions! I will offer my opinion as I looked around for a while before sourcing Siennas. I think the reason they are so popular is that yes, they are awesome. I doubt you will find anyone who has them and is not pleased. I would bet that there are plenty of other nice...
