    Opinions on Roverracks.com

Checkout Equipt. www.equipt1.com, Paul is the owner. We're running their racks on all our LR3's and they're by far the best solution available. Made in South Africa they're the bees-knees. If your looking for a rack your going to use there simply isn't a better one out there IMO. - JPM

Need Assistance - Designing Dual Battery System for an LR3

Morning all, I'm getting ready to implement a dual battery system into the LR3 and I would like to get some feedback before I hack into it.. In the past I've always used Hellroaring kits and although they're nice, I'm leaning towards something much simpler and less $$$ this time around. The...

    Anyone in Miami, FL?

Ring me up as well...we'll all go. I'll take some shots and cover it in the LRL BLOG (if the owners would like.) Afterwards we'll go down the Southbeach and make some of the white rappers and 80 year old sabertooth tigers. LOL.. Funny, I was just down in Miami and I didn't see a single...

276c help needed urgent, leaving for trip tomorrow...

Ok, for some reason my 276c decided to wack out and won't let me upload maps... I've tried flashing it to reset it, reboot, reinstall the mapsource, reset the power, etc... It will upload if I select one or two maps but anything more and it hangs and bombs out eventually with the transferring...

CB Radios - Does size really matter?

Oh no, this is on the LR3.. I'm just going to weld tabs on the rack for the HAM and CB antennas.

CB Radios - Does size really matter?

The rack is metal but it will have kingslite plastic flooring. I was toying with the idea of center mounting it but your correct, it would interfere with gear in some cases. Are you saying my best would be to go off one of the side rails vs. the rear rail? I could go with the front bumper as...

CB Radios - Does size really matter?

Just wanted to say thank you everyone.. There has been a good deal of information shared on this thread. I think I'm going with the hand held/perm route for a CB and will go with a HAM. I hope to have my license in Feb. I'll post up when the final installaton is complete with my results...

CB Radios - Does size really matter?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. A set of Midlands will due the trick in the LR3 and Jeep. That way I can pull them if need be. Great tip! I assume these connect up to a normal antenna externally mounted? Which leads me to my next question - Is there an advantage to running dual antennas...

CB Radios - Does size really matter?

Looking to fit a small CB into the Diesel Liberty as space is scarce inside the cab and I'm looking at one of these: http://www.emartinc.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=220 or something the like. My question is - Can you really get decent transmit/receive with one of these? Tuning...

How Long Should A WInch Line Be?

I just finished widening the drum of my 8274 by 7" :) I should be able to cram 300' of synthetic 3/8" when I'm done. Not too concerned about pulling power as I'll be adding a Gigglepin dual 24v motor setup to the already legendary warn workhorse. This isn't really common here in the states...

Give you opinion on two burner stoves...

What about quality of flame and replacement parts? I mean I have to question it though...if I buy a $40 stove and it works for a year and then breaks with no parts to find does it really matter? Thanks for the info guys. I'll be making a decision soon. , J

    Smallest sleepingbag...

Gonzo, Most of our camping will be in the Southeast so a warmer/moist climate is common. That's not to say we won't get out west or up north on ocasion. I do have two nice Kelty's though if it get's REALLY cold. The idea of a pair of mummy bags doesn't scare me too much but the...

Best way to build a route with an XLS of addresses?

Very neat program! Looks like I can import an XLS file into Delorme... I'm going to mess with this later tonight and see what I can come up with. I'm not sure if I can sent waypoints to my 276c from Delorme though without jacking up my points from Mapsource....?

Give you opinion on two burner stoves...

I seem to be doing a lot more camping (3 times this month!) and the amount of people joining me seems to continue to raise as well. Which is a good thing! I just need to be able to prepare enough food to take care of everyone. :) Right now I've got a nice single burner butane stove I bought...

Best way to build a route with an XLS of addresses?

Hi everyone, I've got a list of north american addresses and I'm looking to put them all into GPS software as waypoints so I can plan a series of routes. Most of my GPS use has been off the road so I'm not sure what the best method of doing this. My goal, is to be able to look at state and...
