I've been to all three Expos so far, but to be honest another one in Amado doesn't sound all that appealing, grass or no grass.
Maybe after a year away and the promise of less dust, maybe. Maybe.
Remember a trailer is a three point system that doesn't really flex or twist too much. Vibration from washboard/rough roads is the enemy. It's pretty easy to build cabinetry to withstand that.
Bill, sorry to hear about all this, I know you were really excited about the end product. It sounded great that they were willing to work with you and build what you wanted/needed but if it was just lip-service then that sucks.
It seems a manufacturer would have most of this stuff figured out...
I put the last new Race Face bars and seatpost I had in stock on Travis' bike. I really liked those and had good luck with them. Their cranks, not so much.
I've really become a Truvativ, Avid, SRAM guy. But I still like White Brothers and Manitou forks better than Rock Shox.
Careful now, my new trailer has become 10 times the amount work I thought it would be. :Wow1:
I figured I'd be at least half done by now but I'll be lucky if I'm a fourth done. And of course I'm into it for WAY more money than I thought I would be !
Interested to see your new project.
It was a hoot in spite of the weather! A good time was had by all. Great food, awesome massages, and cool people.
Even though we sent Travis out in the worst of the weather :sport_box he came back smiling!
It was a great team effort, thanks to everybody for making my trip out there worth it.
You know I want to! It's only about 2 hours from my cabin. I think I've ridden that trail, or one within 5 miles of there. Beautiful Ponderosa pines and Aspens and a fair amount of climbing.
I have one at my cabin and it actually works very well. You wouldn't want to do a whole lot of laundry with it though. Just be VERY conservative with the amount of soap.
My 01 has 135,000 on it and runs as good as new.
Fuel pumps, vacuum pumps and other things bolted to the motor may go bad, but if you hurt a Cummins internally at that mileage something is definitely wrong! Run away.
I was a Honda dealer when the TransAlp came to the US and I rode the wheels off our demo model.
I came REAL close to buying an Africa Twin in Tampa a few years ago. I bought a 97 Triumph Tiger instead and although I liked it, I sold it about a year later. I wish I had bought the Honda.
