    JEEP jku tent idea

I built something similar a while back: Used it with one of those SUV tents that straps around the rear of the Jeep. Very comfortable. Too small for two though. Since moved on to this ($300 for the trailer. www.govliquidation.com):

    My Camper/Crawler build:

you know kc0tma, you're dream(in your sig) sounds like one hell of a dream. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to do the backhalf yourself (subject to you have some welding/ fab skills). Cabbing off the body of the TJ is the tough part. I've followed a lot of crazy builds on...

Looking for some advice on my trailer build.

So i started with an m116 from Govt liquidation (great condition only $400). So far I have trimmed some fat off of the corners so that it's only wide over the fenders, re-wired the taillight harness, and now I'm on to the cage portion. I was trying to draw up a sketch but wanted to hear some...

    VW Diesel in a TJ

Here's a really cool build of a TJ with a 4bt in it. Not expo'd yet but it'd be a pretty sweet platform. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=736600

Are there any trailer tent manufacturers in the US?

I've looked at the Eezi-Awn. It's a bit too pricey.

    Sleeping in the Tj

I ordered an SUV tent to use as canvas. It was so close to being finished but progress was halted. After i welded up that jerry can mount, i found out that the tailgate would no longer open to a full 90*. one of the main structural supports for the can is in the way. You can kind of see it...

Are there any trailer tent manufacturers in the US?

I have seen several aussie and chinese manufacturers but nobody seems to retail these things in the US. I'm looking for this type: Anybody know of anyone? Gordigear ships to the US but it's pricey.

    My Camper/Crawler build:

Those four brackets sticking down bolt straight on to the roll cage on the inside. They pass through little slits in the soft top and support the perforated angle iron. The rack just easily bolts and unbolts to the angle iron. Same with the lights. And obviously, the entire thing is removable...

I couldn't explain in text how much there is involved with a full size axle-swap. I suggest you do some serious research. There is a ton of information on 1-ton builds and suspension geometry and such over on www.pirate4x4.com Check the jeep-hardcore tech section. But be advised, they won't...
