A little up date.

Winch works great. Now for a mount or front bumper. I was originally going to build a whole bumper. Only thing is i like the look of my truck now. So i was just going to get the Warn hidden mount well I'm told that won't allow me to retain my current brush gaurd. Also worried how it would look 5" forward. So in thinking of how to keep my current front end and still mount my winch. I had thought of a multi mount but the weight is notwhat i want to pack around.

The weight of a permanent winch mounted up front will be significantly more than that of a front receiver. Just load up the winch when you are heading out into the bush.

I'm not worried about the weight on my truck. The winch itself in a cradle is 200lbs. Not what I wish to tote around.

`I just installed the hidden winch mount..here are 2 pics. it is unobtrusive and only sticks out 4". With it tucked inbetween the frame horns my springs did not move. (i have the snow plow prep springs though, 2600# per IIRC)

the winch was 100# (warn 12k) and the mount was about 110#?

I have been so very busy with the wedding. I was able to get the truck all cleaned up washed and waxed. Wyatt and I also snuck away for 6 hours to build a winch plate. Its far from done. I will be cutting the stock bumper to fit over for now.

Just put 2800 miles on the Duty. After the wedding we (wife) and I went to breckenridge co and then made our way to moab. I will be posting pictures in a day or so. We are moving shortly very busy time.

I can't wait to be able to explore the area. I just hope my superduty is up to the task. I have a small running list of places to visit first. The wife is most excited about having a house. We have been living in our camp trailer 26' of home. So I know it will be a few months before we get to play to much.

Not a lot to up date today. Did the all boring oil change. I did find a fun little issue.
