A write up eh?
Under the hood is a dual battery set up using the stock location, but different battery tray to allow dual Odessyee 1200 batteries, then a hell roaring kit came on board to make it all come together as one.
I am running the Firestone ride rites out back, currently no onboard air so ran the lines to the license plate area. Then put the plate on a hinge to lift up to gain access to air them up. Also at this point because I have ripped the trailer plug off a few times it was relocated there as well.
Added the ARB front bumper but no winch due to the front frame horns being beer can material, so I need to remove bumper and plate the frame horns for a more secure attachment point.
Then went shopping at SFK's website and ordered up a full set of Skid row skid plates. I had the factory front so smashed up it was time for a change.
Then on over to Wheelers and picked up the Total Chaos upper control arms, 3 leaf HD spring pack, Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, steering rack poly bushing kit, sway bar bushing kit, the diff drop kit. Also picked up the ICON coil overs, (here is the poopy part they don't tell you they use 600# springs) which maybe just fine for city slicker trucks. I ended up have to buy 700# springs and may have to got to coilsprings.com and have them custom make 800#'s when the winch comes on board. again another FYI factoid the front of these trucks are heavy! lots weight on the front.
I do have a speedometer recalibrator under the dash to correct the minor difference in tire size.
I have had to replace both rear axles bearings seals etc, possibly a weak design plus trailer towing and I use mine off road in the rocks where some want to keep there truck all nice and shiny, pretty. I believe in having a truck that can get you in and out safely and in one piece.
I run a icom 706mkII G for ham radio, a hand held for APRS duty another handheld for monitoring the traveling frequencies and then the ol cb is a handheld thrown in the center console and not used much. along in there is the motorola talkabouts also.
The canopy is a Gemtop work master, This is very hand as your bulky gear goes in back and the day to day items are in the side compartments for easy access. We also use the sides for a pantry while camping, open and all of the food stuffs are right there and out the way for mice and bears to get into.
Sure there is more to come as I rehash whats on board.

It's an awesome truck! I am needing to get some firestone airbags for mine as well because I'll be running around with a 4wheeler in the bed a lot of the summer and fall.

How many miles do you have on it?

Sorry for the hijack, but do you like the Sahara Bar?

It's only a hijack of it takes away from the thread. Everybody here has contributed some great stuff! It's my thread and I'm begging you guys to keep posting pics because y'all are the inspiration behind what I'm doing with my truck

Thanks fellas!!

You don't need to modify the bumper which would void any warranty/safety built into it. Its just that Toyota went cheap on the frame horns, there are threads out there that talk about the modifications on Tacoma's which also pertain to Tundra's. But yes by all means you can just go with a winch in the bumper, just won't be as secure as I would prefer.
As for the Sahara it is big bulky and heavy and in theory according to ARB does not fit a 06, But would I switch it out? probably not

Could u put a winch in that bumper with out mods to bumper?

Thanks. I love to have an arb bumper with winch and be easier to make to frame stronger than to mod a LC arb bumper to fit

I want to do what ctapia did and have somebody fab some brackets for a 100 series ARB bumper.

http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/75687-CTapia-05-Tundra-4WD-Build-Up/page7

I don't think ctapia is around anymore, I sent him a few private messages but never heard back

Heard and seen a few pages of guys doing the LC bumper. I didn't like it cuz it left too many gaps and I think the side wing comes on past the fender and would need to be chopped down to size.

I still have a local guy that did my rear swing out on my runner and I love it. He is leaning more to tube/ hybrid bumper for the front of my tundra but not a fan of tube bumpers. Sliders is ok

This looks about perfect to me…

Haha well it's been a while since I looked at them. Don't see why ARB just doesn't redo the mounting points in the LC bumper to match tundra. Add a little more metal to fill the gaps and done
