Excellent post man! And now your are going to Tibet, holy s!@#! Check me and my buddy out. We are in Alaska now and are starting to head south. I read that you like to do the climbing thing. So do I. Not sure if our paths will ever cross but they might. Safe travels!

How do you have your fueled cans mounted on your jeep and why do you ink the bolts came out?


I have a fear that my jeep tire is going to rip off too

Regarding the fuel cans, they're mounted using these:

I did not pay $184.99 for them as shown in the link. I think the mounts were like $10 each from JC Whitney. I drilled holes into the side and rear of the Jeep and bolted them on.

I have no idea how the spare tire mount screws came out. Initially I thought that the bolts broke but not the case.

So, I got my Tibet Travel Permit this morning. Here's what they look like. On the reverse side it's got my name on it.

I flew out of Washington, D.C. this morning and landed at JFK in New York City. The big storm that moved across the country yesterday and last night sure did affect the skies this morning. We flew in a small commuter jet and it was like driving a 4x4 all the way. The good news is that we landed safely and soon enough I'll be boarding Delta's largest jet as we head for Tokyo, and then Shanghai. Stay tuned. :wings:

Preparing to leave JFK Airport for Tokyo, Japan.

Flying over the Bering Sea on the way to China. I was completely surprised by these views and had a difficult time taking my eyes off the wonderful scenery.
