I totally get that. Recently, I found a car that is close enough to one of my all time favorite cars that I wanted to pick it up. Super cheap too.
Wrong year but close enough. Might even be able to swap out the front to correct it.

But then I realized, I don't want to spend my weekends tinkering. I've had several classic cars that never got beyond project car status.
I'd rather be out on my bike or exploring. And, what would I do with this car? Go get groceries? Participating in car shows isn't my thing.
