I love your Truck.. but why such a non aggressive tire? From your build it looks like you wheel it a lot..

thx, I picked the nittos up slightly used at an incredible price a couple years ago. They still have lots of tread so its hard to justify replacing them. I will probably go to BFG AT next.

I've looked at mud tire options and there are a couple I'd like, but I'd either have to go down in size, up to a bigger wheel, or go wider. The other option is a 2nd set of wheels.

Shrockworks Rear Bumper with Backup Lights

After a long wait Shrockworks has finally produced a rear bumper for the 2nd Gen Frontier. It is a solid design real clean and easy to install. The unit has raised the location of my hitch by about 3" and provides a ton more clearance then the oem bumper and tow hitch combo while shaving a couple pounds off the total weight.

Best of all back-up lights. Anyone that's ever driven a frontier in reverse on a dark road/trail knows that the stock reverse lights are just not sufficient.
Added bonus now I can hitch my trailed in the dark.

there is a predrilled hole for the 7-pin harness

but since I use the 4-pin I had to drill 2 holes

I mounted it on the underside of the bumper near the receiver and protected by the flange.

New Shoes

Well after much deliberation and research I decided to buy the BFG AT TA in size 295/75/16 to replace the Nitto's

Initial reaction is that they are quieter then the Nitto's on the road. The truck handles great! I can't wait to see what happens on the trails.

Bigdog,

Just read thru all 11 pages. Impressive build! I've got an '08 NISMO, mostly stock right now. Got Shrock sliders, thinking about Shrock skids and a Shrock front bumper.

Did you look at the KMA MultiCarrier Rear Bumper at all? (www.kenmtn.com) It has the ability to relocate the spare to the rear, provides a hi-lift mounting point, but some report mediocre quality cuts, swing-gate stops that don't, stuff like that. Anyone's comments welcome on this.

Not gonna lift mine yet, it's still under warranty. Mine will see mostly desert use, I imagine.

Thanks!

PS - This is my first post on ExPo. Hi all!

Thanks - I did, and really liked their design, but was also concerned about workmanship. So for now my spare is still underneath the truck.

BigDog - check out Hefty Fabworks (assuming you've not already seen all of this on newX or somewhere). They'd got very short lead times, getting rave reviews about service, quality, and design.

BTW - I was just down in your neck of the woods. Maybe not this year b/c I'm doing Gone, but one of these days I want to hit URE. I've got in-laws about an hour north of Charlotte, so I can make a trip out of it.

yea, I know that there are some guys working with them to build something for the Frontier. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

absolutely, once the park opens back up in April it will be time to head back to URE. Will make several trips during the season, don't usually post up here but trips are usually posted on newx and other nissan forums.
