Captains 1994 x-cab Hilux

First off.
Had to change the torsionbars as the OME is soon to be written into the cars registration papers. A hell of a tight and uncomfortly job. Used 1 hour on left side and 3 on the right due to the driveshaft, exhaust, brakelines, dustcovers, electronics, rear diff snorkel and so on. The diff snorkel will be changed soon.

The rear lowered. Just the 31s 3" in the air. 2" OME will be added too. Just takes tiiiiiiiiiime to get those parts.

New update and a large modification overwith

Came home and began to chop just a few hours later. Chop to 37s.
After 14 hours alone the RH was finished. Next night the LH was finished at 0530 with help from my brother. Did it at work (gas station) so got to do a little in the quiet hours while I watched the store. Getting payd and work on my car - so worth it :)

The result is awesome! Ground clearance by 15" and with 8 lbs of air they rock.

My brother's original Hilux 2003 (same chassis as Tacoma '97, just with a D4D diesel) on 31"

Had a few days off last week after a field trip so by those days 3 boxes from Low Range and Trail Gear got picked up with a letter from the register office. Installed a bomb proof gearbox mount and took it for a drive in the woods. I'll drive back home to night to have two weeks off. Preparing to paint the frame, tow hitch, rear axel and the drive shafts. Got the fender flares, but have to finish them up with paint and stuff before mounting. The US bed arrives this week and I hope to pick it up.

Next order from Low Range Offroad is soon to be sent with new calippers from V6 Pickup/Hilux, rotors and more brakes.

the register office :D
Got a letter from the register and the swap to 1KZ-T 3.0TD (from 4Runner and later on LC90) was approved. Guess the swap will be done in July, but we'll see.

Welded up a new mount for the shocks as the original minimizes the out-flex.

Got the new used bed, but didn't have the time to go pick it up in Oslo, but managed to pick up the fender flares and paint them up along with the fenders up front. Snorkel, side markers and badges has to wait just a few more (2) days.

For a few weeks ago the final touches to the OME were done.
Began to change the leaf springs. To get it all down I had to chop the bolts and burn out the old bushing, and I can tell you - it was one hell of a job.
Popped the old shackle bolt out of the shackles (splines), drilled an 18mm hole to fit the new greasable bolts and got it together. The springs got out and were changed out with the new OME leafs.
While I was at it, the shocks were moved to forfill their purpose even better off road as on road.

Next project, codename: engine swap

Had a few weeks earlier gotten the "new" engine out from my old truck and I got more and more tired of 82 horses struggling to keep the speed.
It's not much to write about this as it's just a regular engine swap on a Toyota.

Note to self: Have to buy a new camera

The last year not that much has happened. Bought a LC60 which has costed me a lot in parts and hours. Allthough I managed to change the bed a few days after the engine was istalled. The engine got new exhaust this summer. 3" downpipe and the rest in 2,5 inches. Began to make a new wire harness under the bed, but it just stopped.

Guess its time for me to do a little logging.
For a little over two weeks ago I took the railway to pick up my new, unseen pickup. 1994 4x4 x-cab Hilux (Toyota Pickup) powered by a still lazy 2.4D "2L II".

One of the pictures from the advertisement.

It was a lot more snow (20") when i picked it up, so you can call it a fun trip home after a half year without my old truck :wings:

Norway?? That is awesome! I love this forum. Welcome, from a newb to this great forum.

Thank you guys! It has been quite a transform if I may say so.

The truck is for sale at the moment, but if ino one wants it I'll just keep it and do some more mods. Have a long list, but lets just see how it goes on.
Most of the big parts is finished, so now it's ready to get all the accessories like lockers, lights etc. As I said, let see how it turns out

After a quiet and wet winter I figured the truck had to get some TLC and a little makeover.

Painted the bed and sold the chrome to a friend. Was more like a color coctail than an expo/overland build with the snorkel and gangster cap mounted. My mind went back and forth dwelling on what the exterior should be like. Like many men before me I figured that black is the way to go, and now it looks better. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
