Articles about the Easter Jeep Safari are starting to appear in print.
Here's what Truck Trend had to say about the Mopar Underground
project vehicles that appeared at the event:
http://www.trucktrend.com/features/travel/163_0908_2009_moab_mopar_underground_design/index.html

This is the Jeep Cherokee Chief that Mopar Underground prepared
for the Safari. Mechanical changes include a Rubicon 4-to-1 transfer case,
Rubicon Dana 44 axles, a 4.5-inch long-arm suspension kit, and
37-inch Goodyear MT/R tires on AEV wheels, plus a 6.1-liter Hemi V-8!

There's a thread over on ifsja.org that details what was done to this Jeep.

The most interesting part to me was the adaptation of the Rubicon Express long arm kit to the chassis. Vewy niiice.

ARB Rack mounts

Hi! I'm new to the forum and am completely obsessed with overland travel.

These internal rear rack mounts are super clean. If anyone fabs these mounts I will gladly pitch in for a set! Is there anyone that can get the measurements from the vehicle? I would gladly donate the CAD time to create the production files.

Yep, the rack is drilled through the hard top and bracketed underneath and supported to the roll cage. In effect making the hardtop not removable.....but in an overland situation, a hardtop would likely not be removed anyway.

Here's some shots:

I like the KK a lot. Too bad they aren't a popular vehicle for offroading. I can't believe 33" tires fit with 2" lift.
