Jason,
I'll check with Paul and let you know!

Scott Brady has tried in the JK and it worked out pretty well. I am not an authority on the TJ, but I would think that the layout is close. All the measurement specs are on our site under Front Runner / storage solutions / footwell tank. If there is a spec missing, let me know and I will check it out for you.

Cheers,

Do you know if a 50L upright fits across an M416 trailer?

I don't believe so. I did a quick search on the dimensions of the 416, and found they are 41" wide. Our upright tank across the bottom is 42" (53"-11" for arcs). I don't believe the arcs are high enough either. Sorry for the bad news.

Cheers,

I recall the upright container with a spout at the hollister event. Any pics of the mount? I'm trying to see if it can be adapted to fit my roof rack.

Alternatively do they fit where a standard NATO can does? I already roof mounts for 4 Jerry cans.

Cool. I'll break out the tape and check out that part of the Jeep. If its close I think I have a big enough hammer to work out the differences :)

Not to hi-jack your thread, but Paul dropped some Front Runner Water containers off at Sierra Expeditions shop yesterday. For those interested in the Phoenix area, you are more than welcome to swing on by and check them out.

Will the footwell or the upright water tank fit in a FJ Cruiser?

Ben posted the links to the different tanks just above. On each of the links are the measurements for the tanks. These are designed as a universal water system. The second measurement listed on the footwell tank is for the cutout for the drivetrain hump. It is centered.

I think you are talking about the 20L Jerry Can water can with the spout. The upright tank is the model that holds 50 liters and has cutouts for the wheel wells and a hose to go out the back or side doors.

The 20L Jerry is darn close to the same size as the NATO cans. It works really well in our vertical can holder that you can see here. http://www.equipt1.com/companies/Rack Accessories/product-fr/120105-vertical-can-holder However, my experience with this water can and our single and dual can holders is that the water is a bit deeper front to back and spreads the lateral strap a bit. Hope that made sense. It will fit, but it is a bit tight.

If you are talking about the upright tank laying flat on your roof rack, I think that is a decent idea. Very low profile at 3", and has several baffle holes to use as mounting spots. You could also strap it down to the rack across the entire width. That is an idea worth researching.

is there a list somewhere on the Equipt website of what vehicles the footwell tank fits into?

If not, maybe there should be?

I'm intrigued to see if one would fit into my Subaru.

Putting a list of the vehicles that any of our tanks would fit in would be a great idea. Each tank has a universality to it, to meet a lot of different applications. We have offered the dimensions for each so you can decide on your own if it will work for your application. We'd love to hear what vehicles these tanks work on, and the unique solutions folks have found for them. Sounds like a good thread to me!

Cheers,

Liking both the footwell water tank and the Jerry Can Water Tank w/ Recessed Spout.

I just measured my 4Runner back seat floor area, the 9 3/4” depth of the footwell tank may be a tight fit with my front seats all the way back, I will probably have to try one to confirm the fit. I love the possibility of carrying the water down there, low and mid-car.

Anyone know if the water can with spout/spigot fits an Adventure Trailer can carrier mount?

Just the reason I bought one.

They certainly do. Here is a photo of one in an AT holder on the front of my Chaser. Very snug. Great fit.
