Very interesting build for sure. What year Trooper did you find that gas tank? What's the capacity? Can't quite tell from the pics but how far does it hang down below the frame?--6 inches or so?

Some more updates:

I scored a really nice second gas tank from Isuzu Trooper complete with skid plate, and sending unit. It was a really easy installation; just a couple of brackets on the frame rails. I modified the brackets on the skid plate and eveything got painted and installed.

I will keep everyone posted as more updates become available.

corax: Interesting vehicle. The ebay ad says that its a fiberglass factory cab? Is this correct? I had no idea such a thing existed. Must be extremely rare.

I've seen quite a few of those cab conversions. They were professionally done, but some look kinda home-brewed IMO.

fiberglass part is just the extension behind the regular sheet metal "standard cab"

Definitely a "unique" look (doesnt really appeal to me). Just for clarification (im a little slow:ylsmoke:) was this factory toyota, or done by an aftermarket company? I havent seen a single one of those style extended cabs up here.

I believe that was the Sky Cab option, not sure because Isuzu made one with the same type extra cab on it. I was very young and believe it to be from the 83-86 era. At least that is when I remember them in So Cal area and it goes with the sheet metal from teh front end.

***Now back to a regular scheduled... where are the Pictures/ Updates Oleg****

I read that you stiffened the frame in the rear section to not let the frame twist under the camper. I was curious if you are at all worried about the twist you may get from the front cab area. Could it cause the cab to twist forward of the camper then stress the area you molded from the camper? I know there are body bushing on the cab. Then the camper is mounted stiff. Am I reading that correctly?

X2 Altho I have very limited fiber glass experience...I would have worried about twist.....My thought would have to mount the rear part on bushings of some sort....but like I said I have limited experience so????? Makes me nervous....waiting for that really loud POP!
