Does anyone know the following?

What mileage has E7 been getting out of their BFG KM2s? 20k, 30k?

How chewed up if at all is the tread?

What width the wheel is they are using? 16x?

About 10,000 miles, but even then, they are past my preferred wear. We have essentially needed a new set for each continent. These trucks are heavy and driving on thousands of miles of dirt roads

They are completely chewed up, especially the ones we siped in the beginning. I really like the size and the tires perform admirably in the more technical terrain, but the lug integrity is pretty limited. Lots of chunking. It is the perfect size, and this is the only appropriate tire for the conditions we are encountering (mud, snow, etc.) 255/85 R16.

I would like to run an AT for the Southern Hemisphere stuff, but nothing is available in that size.

We were looking into the BFG KM2 in tat size for our Suburban but if I want to get some mileage out of them I may have no choice but to go a bit wider to keep with the BFG ATs.

Thanks for the info Scott!

The Iceland segment will be featured in the next issue (Fall) of Overland Journal, where Greg, Sinuhe, Arctic Trucks and I crossed the largest glacier in Europe using two Land Cruiser 78s. It was one of my most memorable adventures.

Bruce has released a few images from our Canning Stock Route crossing. It was early in the season and WET!

Greg spools up the turbo on the VDJ78 to make the deep, muddy and rutted crossing.

"The Man" Kurt Williams running the recovery strap from the Sherpa II to one of the VDJ78s. This was the second of many stucks that day/night/next morning

When are the E7 team going to be in the Johannesburg (South Africa). We would like to meet up with you guys for a beer and a "braai". (Barbeque). We live in Vereeniging, about 50km south of Johannesburg. We can assist with appropriate accomodation in our area. We are interested in the route that you plan from Johannesburg to Capetown. There are a number of very interesting routes to take.

Thank you Hanrick. I arrive next week, and would greatly enjoy a visit! We will be staying with Jess from Eezi-Awn while we get the trucks through customs and do some minor service. We leave for Botswana on the 14th or so, returning in the first part of August.

Our trip to Cape Town will be later in the year, most likely Oct./Nov.

send me a note and we can coordinate saying hello. (scott at overland journal dot com)

I am really getting excited about the Skeleton Coast. We have received some permits for traveling on the beach and through the dunes! This will be a great test for man and machine.

I leave for Jo'Burg in a few days. Each time I pack lighter and lighter. If I didn't need to bring a few winch lines and a Trasharoo, I could probably go carryon only (helps when you leave all the personal gear with trucks)

You only live once and if you have the dreams/desire plus cash to make things like this happen....well, all I have to say is, that it is pretty awesome!
