If you had to sell one?

Sell either one, as long as you don't end up with one of these.

The guilt and remorse you would feel later would just kill you. But, if you decide to sell the 80 I would be happy to steal it from you. I'll beat whatever KC's bid is by 250. I'm the perfect person for it, as I would love to expand my collection of great old landcruisers that the previous owner would spend all his time moping around over selling it. You and Durango_60 could then start a support group together. :victory:

Now that was just completely uncalled for...

Yeah, but it was funny. Seller's remorse is a real SOB to deal with.

Find the silver lining Jonathan. You may have a Jeep now, but you will never have to change another diaper in your life.

I would gladly step aside in my pursuit of Scott's 80, so durangodds could buy it, albeit temporarily. At the rate Ryan reproduces, he'll be trading it in for a school bus within a year or two anyway.

I need the 80 so the oldest can start driving it in a few years. That way we'll go the convoy route, rather than a bus.:safari-rig: :safari-rig:

When we were looking for a replacement for our GMC truck we considered both the 80 and 100. The 100 won, partly because we found a decent 100 before we found an 80 in good condition, but also because we knew at some point we would want to tow. Either a boat or a small trailer or both are in our future. Everything I read about the 80 indicated it is rather gutless, this with out a trailer behind it.

It sounds like you could keep the 100, sell the 80 and get into a nice Adventure Trailer or small Pop-up tent trailer. This would give you back your third row seating take care of the seating issue.

There is also this option

Funny-I saw one of these exact same rigs up a Gold Lake at the offroad camp a few years ago. Those came with a 22re as I remember and some of the parts from 4wd minitrucks. It didn't have a ton of clearence, but the guy said he had been everywhere in it. It would be a perfect Death Valley rig.

Kinda like this?!? I'm a couple of years ahead of you so it's a '55 and a '60 instead of a '60 and an '80 or an '80 and a '100! This is near Motozintla, Chiapas, Mexico.

It's actually much more affordable as these are both Toyota 3B turbo-diesel powered rigs (can you say 25mpg)!!

And you call me subtle?

Okay, yes I admit I have two in diapers and the poop is both literally and figuratively all over the place! Argh, but sirs I will look back on my death bed at these diaper days better than will I any day. Okay, better may be having to change said diapers aboard a cutter hooked in that one particular harbor or on the back of the LC tailgate in nowhere UT.

... wiping the Toronto Sushi off the sushi bar window now... LOL

There are a few guys who have lifted them enough to stuff 31's under them.If you wanted to engineer a diff drop kit you could probably lift them a bit more. They have true 4WD and an "extra low" gear like the 4WD Tercel. In fact they have the same drive train as a 4WD Tercel.

I agree they would make an excellent adventure rig tricked out like a VW van. All it would take is a two burner stove, three way fridge, 10 gal water tank and a bar sink. Build a platform bed in the back and your good to go.

If they weren't so hideous I might even be able to talk Mrs Rusty into getting one.

I think they are absolutely awesome! My first girlfriend used to drive one.
