I droped the car at 9:00am and picked up at 4:00pm when I called to followed up I was told they had a problem with my vehicle...
They had made the hole in the wrong side ( driver side ) to which i thought it was funny! ( very funny ):sport_box

I will post some pictures on Sunday morning since I have been very busy at work, also I had a big problem with my bodyshop, they were suppose to paint my ARB Bumper and they did not, they are claiming they will have it ready by next Thursday ( it was supposed to be ready last week ) so I pick-up the bumper and will try to install it on Saturday morning!

I will use the vehicle this weekend with th black bumper and let's see if i like it or else i will send it to a different bodyshop to have it painted!:( :(

You guys are braver than me. I'd love to have a snorkle, but I can't bear the thought of cutting into perfectly good sheet metal. It was a lot easier to cut and drill and poke holes and paint and do all kinds of thing to my old truck, but not this new one. If I just had a perfectly good matching fender all painted and standing by, I could probably do it. LOL!!

Your Lexus is looking good by the way. :)

PS: I didn't see any further mention about what winch you were going to get. You can usually get pretty good deals on a standard, very basic WARN M8000, in the $500 dollar range. I picked up a brand new one for just over $500 on sale at 4wheelparts a few months ago. Like you, I don't expect to use it much, but I want something that is actually going to work when I need it, and I've had really good luck with Warn winches over the years.

8000lbs is not a lot and you rarely get to use full capacity anyway, so don't forget to pick up a snatchblock so you can double line if you need too.

Thanks,
as for the winch I am looking into the Warner 8000,as you stated it should be good enough for me, however I am unsure on which would be my next mod, I am looking into Slee Sliders, rear bumper or winch for the month of September, i like to keep on doing one or two mods per month!

As for the ARB Bumper I hope to have it installed by this coming Friday!

Will post pictures!

That's a tough call. Of course it all depends on your driving. If you go off road at all, of all the things you mentioned, only the winch can actually save you.

If you get into a situation where you might need sliders, you're in a situation where a winch may be necessary.

I went through the same thought process as I only had so much funds left and I put off the sliders and rear bumper in favor of the winch just for that reason. I'm careful where I go so as not to cause rocker damage, until protection can be installed.

I've used the winch for utility work on our research projects, but I purchased it first, mainly for peace of mind and knowing that if I'm in the middle of nowhere and ran off the road or got stuck in a mudhole that was deeper than it looked, with no help, sliders and rear bumber aren't going to look like the wisest priority.

Plus winter and snow are just around the corner. But there are other factors to consider, such as if you always travel with more than one vehicle or almost never go off road, a winch is not as high a priority

I can tell you Sliders saved my azz more than once, body armor doesn't hurt either. Will a 8K winch be enough to pull the Cruiser out?

In most cases yes. If it has trouble you double the line on it.

We run a m12000 Warn on our rig. Thank god too, cause we weigh 7,000+ lbs fully loaded. Also, we had to pull out a F350 4x4 out the other day and it pulled without even hesistating.

I have the Warn 8000 on my 80. It has only seen use a couple of times so far...

However, make sure you get the correct "accessories."
Shackle
Gloves
Chain
Tree Strap (or two)
Snatch Block (doubler)

Another item to think of is the pull-pal. I have been contemplating purchasing one b/c we often travel solo. And especially in Baja where there often aren't very many BIG trees for anchors.
