LOL, in the winter time we let our house drop into the 60s.
Same with us in the winter. At night the thermostat actually goes down to 59 and during the day it sits at 62. No A/C, so the summer time is however low the swamp cooler can get it.

I have been looking and considering this trip, too many trips in November, I will keep an eye on this one, do we need permits at all.

I think my wife will prefer a warm hotel, but still in the air depending on the temps!:chowtime:

No White Rim on Friday yet?

how technical do we expect these trails to be?:)

No permits needed, unless you go into one of the National Parks (White Rim Trail) then you need the entry fee.
Hotels are much cheaper in November, and there are lots of good options.

I would love to do the Rim, but I can't get away like I had expected to so I would have to run it Sat. if it were going to be an option for me.

Trails can be as easy as the White Rim, to super difficult. Most, in my opinion are easier than they are made to be in guidebooks and such. You have to look for the harder stuff.

Can't go wrong with Moab. I love the place. I feel at home there.

That one would be a easy one for me!......Bring the fam with ya!!!!!

The town of Moab gots great eats and shopping.......Your wife will do fine!

:chowtime:

So the latest is that my wife already has plans that weekend to be in Winter Park, which unfolds into 2 basic assumptions:

- I can plan my own weekend
- I have 2 kids to plan it with....ugh.

I'll need to think about this one some more. It would take a lot of extra work on my part to pull everything off, and I wouldn't have any help from my co-pilot. I'm playing a lot of tennis in my brain right now....:smilies27

I -may- bring my 3 year old along with me...he is no help with anything but throwing sticks into the fire, and some good laughs, but not much else...How old are your kids? They could keep each other company.

Isn't dragging them along what it's really all about anyway. I'll get butchered for this, but I can't see any other reason for car camping. I'll be bringing 3 with me and no copilot, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

FYI - durangodds not only packs around his charming boys, but he brings the coolest toys with 'em too.

The story of his son Clay, being scarred for life after camping just once with me, are highly exaggerated. Actually, it's true but I won't be in Moab in November, so everyone else's kids should be safe.

I'm sorry we won't see you in Moab. Are you planning on coming back around next Father's Day? I'm thinking of holding a water bottle rocket launcher competition. If we do, my money will be on pskaat.

I agree with you on this one!

I wish my children were small at this time, can not buy time!

Enjoy while you can!

Good to hear Moody. That's kind of what I am looking for too. Mine are 3 and (almost) 6, and they love to camp, notably when there is at least one or two other kids to mingle with.

Possibly, but I'll say it's certainly about ME as well. I could camp with them in the backyard, or in one of a gazzillion beautiful places along the Front Range, but the extra trek to Moab gives me a chance to play too. But I like the idea of the new experience, new people, and the unknown that this gathering could bring for all of us. My kids have never been to Moab, and I haven't been there in so long that I can barely spell it, so I've got this itch I need to scratch.....
