Moab Gathering Nov. 2-4 2007

I was thinkin Nullifier's baja trip but can't swing 3 wks, maybe next year. So I'm looking for a different trip. More than likely myself and my brother (Hero Spotter). We can get there in 2 18-20 hour travel days. I'm certain 2 days in moab would be ************ though still only 2 days. So 2 days travel 2 days there and 2 days home. Very doable just trying to weigh the awesome factor.

Man - I've watched this thread for a while, but didn't really think I had the time. But now that it's cooling off and fall is fast approaching, this trip is soooo tempting.

Let's see...I'd have to convince the wife I need to leave her and the kids for a few days, I'd have to erase some planned vacation at Xmas time, and miss a weekend of soccer, mall traffic, and early Thanksgiving sales. Hmmmm....

Moab is, in my opinion, worth it, even for two days. I love Moab. I can't even count how many night I spent under the stars in that area. Make it happen. You won't regret it. I am perfectly fine showing someone around on the less technical trails...I will get my fill of wheeling in October when I am down there.

We have a RTT might be mounted on a trailer by then, if not then on the roof of the Runner. I would think the temps would be nice in Moab around Nov. Though might be cold, not s huge deal. I wish my wife could go but she will be chugging away at her doctorate. So my brother is the next candidate. What type of wheeling is planned, scenic, level 1-10, what are you thinking?

I was kidding, of course (about the mall stuff). My wife's not really into the 'wheelin part, but she loves to camp (but might object to overnight temps in the 20's), bike and hike. I'll need to have a creative plan....

Anyone else bringing younger kids? Mine do much better when others are around.

Well, if there are any fresh bodies lying around, we won't have to bring food. :shakin:

I thought that was just an east coast thing:chowtime:
I am watchng this thread with great interest, me and a buddy are flying out and renting a jeep next year, take lots of pics. We're figuring ~$1500 each for 4 days, you locals fully suck:)

Avg. low temp in Nov. is around 30's....Dec. is when it gets into the 20's.

Yeah... I live in Phoenix. I am shivering when it is 50 degrees outside. We sleep with our thermostat at 74 and I need the comforter!

I'm sure I'll tough if anyway if we make it there!

Holy cow, you keep your house cold! Night time for us is usually 80-82 (78-80 when wife's preg'o), but when the wife & wee ones are travelling I can save some $ and keep it at ~86.

LOL, in the winter time we let our house drop into the 60s.

Looking like I will not be able to get that Monday off. I should (crossing fingers) be able to get away Friday morning, but no extended trip for me this time...just the Friday/Sat/Sun.
