I used the latch mounts on the back of the rear seats to mount the hi-lift. Easy to get to, even when loaded by slapping the seats down and a few wing nuts!
You didn't read the manual my friend (1" gap from bumper to flare). When you start getting bumpy, you will rip that flare off. The Body of the truck moves quite a bit compared to the bumper and frame. I had to have a pretty large gap to keep things from touching.
I am looking to make or find some sort of soft urethane to fill the visual gap, but that is where I ended up.
There is a gap...I painted the fender underneath and had to remove a lot of the underside of the flare (Lexus has a different flare than the Prado). I can always increase the gap, but the front of the flare has a lot of flex to it and should hold, even when hit hard.
Worst case, I use the flare popping off as an excuse to move into the next phase of the project
