Alright thanks for getting back with me thats probably what i will switch to next! You think i can clear them if i have a bj spacer and ome torsion bars and crank them just a little?

It should but, may be tight. I've got bj spacers, and 1" body lift. It will rub very lightly when turned, and stuffed. I've got no crank in my torsion bars though.

IM thinking the upgraded torsion bars cranked a little on my truck would be like you having the 1" body lift on your 4runner. and also run the bj spacer

I've been busy helping a friend, and not doing much to my own lately.

That's got to change. This summer it will depart from NC, and drive to the Grand Canyon, then to Moab for some wheeling, then to Colorado, North to Wyoming and Montana for a couple days exploring, on towards the Black Hills of South Dakota, travel on to be ferried across Lake Michigan and back South to home. Somewhere circa 6000miles round trip.

The powerplant has been good, but has 330k on it now, and deserves a break. I have thought long and hard about many different options, and kept coming back to a new Toyota short block. I decided now was as good of time as any to take the plunge. So here she is:

I also have a head inbound from engbldr with oversized valves and their 270/430 camshaft, and a Doug Thorley tri-y header from Summit Racing.

For the amenities, I will be redoing the cargo area to accommodate the 63qt ARB fridge I recently purchased.

It will include slideouts for the fridge, camping stove, and drawers. I have removed the inner side panels as the room behind them will utilized for storage. For one, I'll be swapping from CO2, to an air compressor to save space, and weight.

I decided to try some inexpensive HIDs off ebay. These are the 35w 7" and I am very pleased with their operation.

I will be painting the bezels on them black as the red just doesn't do it for me.

This past weekend, I took a 101 class with Uwharrie Off Road Training Center. I was interested in learning new techniques, or advice on tweaking old ones. The class was awesome! Even better than I expected.
There was a couple hours of classroom session, followed by techniques of throttle and brake control practiced on their property's obstacles. Some of what they taught felt very alien at first, but I stuck with it as I was there to learn.
We continued the day practicing sidehills and off camber travel. We then moved on to failed hill climbs and descents. As we kept on, I continued using the freshly taught styles, getting more and more comfortable as the day moved on. We did a small intro into recovery before going on a group training trail ride.
I absolutely enjoyed the class, and look forward to the next one.

I had more parts arrive last week and will start the assembly process so I can get it dropped into it's resting place early next month.

On Sunday my plans to build the cargo area with slide out fridge, stove, and drawers were pushed back due to rain. I still got a good start on it considering I only had a short time before it got dark.

Here are some better pics. Once it's complete, I'll pull it back out, and paint, and cover it.

Fantastic build. The rear storage looks awesome. Can't wait to see the new motor build and installed. That 6000 mile trip sounds amazing.

The loss of space in the rear required more storage elsewhere. No where to go but up.

Beautiful 4Runner! And a great job on the storage and slide-outs. Looks like you'll definitely be prepared for your trip.
