That's a great shot. I love the simplicity of the setup. Kind of miss that.

Great looking rig!! I bought my wife and I an 80 as our camping rig a little while back. I sucked her into my new hobby and now she is talking about how it would be cool for me to get an FJ60 or FJ62 to build on and drive. Landcruisers are the best! I'm sold for life.

I just read this entire thread and two things occurred to me as I read...
1. Dang! That is an awesome looking 60. If ever I buy a Cruiser, it'll have to be a 60!
2. Karma! How perfect in that previous life were you to bestow such a wonderous find and in such a way as to provide a writer with a great story?

Awesome story, awesome 60! Drive it, love it, live it!

The best thing you can do with this addiction is to get your wife hooked too. :coffeedrink:

That's how I did it, the first 62 got totalled, the wife hurt her back but the kids were safe, so we bought an 80. Then another 60. Then had another kid, she traded the 80 on a minivan - now she is finally admitting that she regrets it, and wants a white (perfect, eh) 80, low miles and lockers. Planned purchase the beginning of next year. The browsing has begun.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys staring at 'Cruiser pics and daydreaming...

I'm raising my virtual glass to everyone who has made kind comments and supports the 'less-is-more' approach we're taking with this thing. I think we've stayed within the 3 original goals for it; be reliable, simple and comfortable. Now we just need to keep up with the maintenance and resist the temptation to add more "cool farkle".

Very true... I was shocked to find that Mia loves it as much, if not more, than I do. I made a comment to her once about selling it, and she made it clear we weren't going to do that. So it would seem I have two "keepers" then...

Similar goals for my 80. Need to see how it wheels, and what kind of tire I'll need to keep up with me, but aside from the rack and fridge, and a sweet Hella work light, that sucka is staying simple like an antelope hunter :D
