I can't take credit for the pin idea. I stole it off of theksmith's build on Offroad Passport. It is very useful though!

I did this mod as well, and I LOVED it.

By the way, no need for a drill press to do this mod. I just cut the pin with a grinder (did not even put a cut off wheel on it) and they pull right out! (careful they get hot!) The point is that someone could do this mod with a Hack Saw and a little bit of time.

I am 6'5 and I took my jeep out to Moab and slept in there, VERY comfortable with no other modifications! It was GREAT!

I finally got around to installing my lift yesterday.. Took me around 8 hours including trips to the hardware store for bolts and to get tools. I got it aligned today and it handles really well. :victory:

Next step is to finish building the roof rack. I already made the mounting plates and bent the lower side rails. I need to tack the side rails to the plates and measure and cut the cross rails then bend the top rail and supports.. Hopefully have it finished in a few weekends.

Any other updates? I just purchased a white 2000 GC w/ a 4.7 but with Quadra-Drive so i'm kinda stealing your pics as to what mine would look like with a lift:sombrero:

sweet, can't wait to see another WJ build progress... keep us posted!

oh and damn you.. i wanted white originally, but it didn't work out! Looks pimp with the black wheels and all color-matched white body.

Its been a while since Ive updated anything on the build. Work has been pretty busy and the Jeep was kinda put on the back burner for a while. I was able to get out a little and explore. Hopefully I can start working on the rack again pretty soon.

I installed a set of the 6000k DDM Tuning HIDs in the headlights (Should have gone with the 4300k or 5000k bulbs). They actually aimed pretty well and I haven't blinded any oncoming traffic with them, either.

Here's a few newer pics..

I'm going to be putting on some new tires soon since these ones wont make it through winter. Once I get tires I'm hoping to get out n get her dirty as I haven't really had the opportunity yet.

Another thing that was bothering me was the factory Avila's had some pretty bad corrosion from the winters up here. So I decided to paint them black.

First I stripped off the clear using Easy-Off oven cleaner. Then I scuffed up the aluminum underneath and sprayed primer on the wheels. I used 500 Deg engine enamel topcoated with satin clear coat.
