Ipf with HID installed are prtty good too. But I think, the 80s are more and more tempting. Check out the story on the JK on the front page, they have BD lights on their bumper. If they work great, its cool!

+ 1 for Baja Designs XL80s!
I'm running two in Driving/Combo on my Demello bumper.
Very easy to customize pattern, color, shape (Round or Square Bezel) all while maintaining the Lifetime Warranty.
I have owned numerous Baja Designs products over the past 2 years with no issues. Not once have I had to use the warranty but it is very nice to know that It's there if I need it.
Have some output shots available somewhere on my computer :Wow1:

Does anyone know if BD will make an 80 in full spot pattern?

They will not offer it in the Full Spot. Only in Combo and Wide Cornering. When I called they recommended the XL Racer if I wanted spot. The reason they said is that the XL Racer provides more usable light for higher speed and distance applications.

I have to say I think I've down selected to the XL80's and the ARB AR21's.

The rigid midnight edition e series 20" bar is a distant third but looks pretty sweet in that smoked out finish.

I think the XL80's look pretty decent on the AEV Bumper too.

I thought I have read that the 80's come with a few lens arrangements to swap out. It would be nice to have/order the different lenses to suit your needs.

Do you have the 80's routed through an sPod? What's you're set up?

I need to check with BD on what they recommend.

If the xl racers put out that much, then the 80s with full spot would be barn burners....I would love to have 4 80s two driving and two spot. And then put a set of wide cornering squadrons in yellow in my bumper.

They do. You are correct. You could install a Spot lens. They just don't sell it in a Spot pattern.

This is my setup. 2- XL80's in Driving/Combo, Splitter, and Ford Upfitter Harness (Cut the bullet connectors and connected to the sPod)
The lights plug directly into the splitter. The splitter plugs into the upfitter harness. And the upfitter harness plugs to the sPod. Very easy and all of the wiring is clean and hidden. I was able to get a forum discount. They are not on here but are on some of the other forums I am on. It was a pretty nice savings on my order.

- XL80 Pair Driving/Combo
- XL Wiring Harness Splitter
- Upfitter Harness

What are you thoughts on the 80s? I am close to jumping on 2 pairs of those one with the full spot/racer spot installed and a set of full driving beams. or a set of driving 80s with a 10 onx racer edition spot. hmmmmm. I know I'm putting 2 pairs of white squadron pros on my patriot. I think they will be sweet. 4300 lm each. a set in spot and a set in driving for the pat. It will be my BD test bed, if I like them, I am going powerful on my JK.

I run an OnX6 20" combo for distance and a pair of Squadron Pro's in the wide cornering for near distance and spread. It works great and helped me safely get from Los Angeles to Inuvik and back without a single animal strike or even near miss. I can't imagine how much brighter the XL 80's must be at almost 6,000 lumens brighter then my OnX6 bar.
Also, I have a set of the amber covers for the squadrons so I can run them white or Amber depending on the situation, highly recommend.
