Got these in today. I honestly haven't looked to see if ill need a spring compressor or not. That will determine if I will get this going this weekend. Tires won't me here till Monday. Wanted to do it all at the same time.

As many of those nuts as I have, I wouldn't spend the postage to mail one. Visit an Ace Hardware, or equivalent. The stock nut for the downstream flange is a 17mm hex size, 10mm x 1.5 thread. The castle part on the original nuts fatigue from heat cycling. The nut for the head side is a 14mm hex, 6mm x 1.25 or 1.5 thread, depending on previous owner repairs (this is an $0.02 observation from parting out three 4-door and four 2-door Montero/Raider).

Wowsers. Thanks for the info. Ill crawl out and pick one up.

I sent winch a message about the bezel. If I don't hear back I may pick some plastic up and make one myself.

The back speakers are garbage. OEM units. I picked up some 6.5" but they are too small. Looks to be 6.75".

Thinking about painting the center console near the shift column. Maybe using a rubberized paint. Mine is very beat up so Ill sand it down and then resurface it.

Anyone have info on wear to source a decent bumper / gaurd that won't require me to sell my motorcycles. ARB stuff is nice but can be $$$$$$$$. Probably worth it.

Next week should be a busy one as I will get the tires mounted, shocks mounted and address that leak. Are felpro gaskets ok for such things I should follow the OEM only?

My tach is not working so I will have to figure that out as well.

Thanks for the input guys and I will keep this thread rolling till she is where I need her.

I got to admit I love the flat white. I'm sure it was glossy at done point. Could probably bring some shine back but I kind of like it the way it is. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1371878519.549103.jpgmy father in law brought his car by a 57 4 door. Just had it rebuilt but now needs an interior. He is smart to never let me touch that w a wrench.

Made my own bezel out of Masonite. So far not that bad.

I measured it at 9 5/8 x 5 1/8.
In case someone needed it.

Also if anyone knows where I can source a clean shift column or whatever it's called mine I cleaned and reassembled but it is broke. Or at least the indicator part is.

Ok so I got the degreaser out and went at it this morning. Degrease underneath where the the tranny pan sits etc. took her for a drive and hen came home. Inspected w. a flash light and found. ......... Nothing. Frustrated.

Ill drive it to work tonight which is 4 miles away. And in the morning when I get home ill have another look at it.

Maybe it's from this linkage?

I check the cam seals to see if it was weeping from back there and nothing. Just grime. But nothing. Then I took a dry rag all the way around the bell housing of the tranny to see if it would show anything. Nothing. I am fairly certain it is isolated to the transmission.

Got my tires on. Went to Wally World. Total dumb mistake but I couldn't find someone to get me in and out before work. The couldn't figure out the center caps so I told them to leave them off.

I have to do the shocks this weekend ill put the caps on myself if they didn't totally destroy them. I may omit them all together and paint the wheels black anyways. Unless they serve some function.

Ok so I believe I found the leak. It is definently not ATF. It's oil. It's not coming from the top back of the motor either. It looks to be isolated to the tranny.

Here are my questions. Many are going to be dumb so bear w me.

It looks to be just behind the transmission oil pan. Right about where the transfer case shift lever is placed

Do they use gear oil there or ATF in this area of the transmission? This looks clearly like regular oil leaking not ATF. Here is the pic.

Hard to see but on the right you can see it weeping.

It's just behind this square plate on the right side.

Not a massive leak but irritating for sure. And something I would like to take care of.

I would imagine there would be gear oil in this thing somewhere?

Don't know jack about automatics.

Now I need to find the source. This looks to be a transmission mount but the leak should be from from near by. It is dripping down to the larger trans support underneath.

More pics that may help

I hope this make some sense.

The transfer case has gear oil. Check the oil level.
I concur. Only thing in that area with gear oil is your transfer case. Most common places for leaks are the front and rear driveshaft seals which is a relatively easy fix as the driveshafts are easy to remove and replace. The tricky part is putting the new seal in properly without damaging it. Of course it could also be the main seal between the xcase and the transmission.
