Ray,
We are still in, I'm bringing the wifie and the little guy. I like the idea of either bass Pro or Mc D's. We will be caravaning with Tyson. Also, I don't think there is another Jason so you might need to scratch one off the list (Torquey=Jason).

Cheers,
Jason

Man...I REALLY want to go. My wife just drove to newport beach and back this last weekend. Took her @ 10hrs! I could do it faster in my 7, but driving a Monty with m/t's on hwy 5. It would take me 10 hrs. I still really want to go. It would be so much fun to get this many Monty's together!

Ray, put me on the maybe list. Hoping I'll have my rack by then.
Chris, it only takes 8hrs. 11min. from Rohnert Park according to Google Maps.:ylsmoke:

If you don't like driving long distances, break it up with food stops and exploration stops along the way. EX Bass pro shops in Manteca. Lunch in Fresno (taking 99). Then the rest of the way to S. Cal.

Will be good to see you again Jason!

The other Jason is Jason Anderson who has a 95SR. He's not on the forums here though. Reminds me that I need to doublecheck that he's still ok to go.

I am also going, I have an 01 Montero Ltd. any Gen IIIs on this trip?
Nice Alex, I'll add you to the list of attendees. I think you're the first Gen III. Do you have all terrain tires or street tires?

I should point out for all that if the trails are dry then it will be an easy run. However if they're wet, it could get challenging especially on the bypasses. As long as you have AT tires I suspect you'll be fine on the main trail although it may be slippery depending on just how wet the dirt is. If you have street tires, I'd think twice about buying a set of AT tires.

I should also point out that for those coming from NorCal you'll probably want to drive down the day before and sleep overnight in S.Cal. It's a long drive to make to try and get there by this morning. I'm looking at getting a motel room in Palmdale CA the night before.

So currently we have...

You should be fine. It's essentially an established fire road which means fire trucks have to be able to use it.

Wish I could make it guys, but unfortunately my wife was scheduled to work that day, and was given the 31st off instead, so I'll be hitting either Cleghorn, or a river wash near Azusa with her and my 18mo old son, along with a friend in his Jeep. Would've been nice to meet all of you guys, and hit the trail with a bunch of other Monty's. Maybe next time.

Ray, I would really like to setup an ETD today seeing that this weekend is around the corner. I am trying to figure out my new years eve plans and they are contingent on what time we leave.

I'm thinking we all need to be at the junction of Interstate 15 & State Route 138 by 10:00am (click on the images below to see a larger version). Based on Google Maps Streetview there's a McDonalds & a Chevron at this exit.

This image shows several key points for the day...

Point A is the Junction of Interstate 15 & State Route 138.
Point B is the start of the trail (eastern end of it)
Point C is the end of the trail(western end of it)
Point D is the trail head for the optional trail we can run if we finish the Cleghorn early and you any of you want to explore it.

Waypoints for the Cleghorn trail are...
N 34.30049 W-117.33707 Point B on the map
N 34.29488 W-117.37712 Pacific Crest Trail Marker
N 34.29955 W-117.45660 Point C on the map
N 34.31168 W-117.47429 Point D on the map

10AM works perfect!

Any specific CB channel you guys thinking of using so we can tune in on the drive there?
