Moving Forward...

Well we're slowly moving forward...

We got the '89 in the shop, and started gutting and replacing...

We're going to steal the brakes off of the '87 for Roverzilla as the '90 has an electrically boosted brakes. The 3.9L, and ZF Auto Tranny out of the 1990, and the LT230 should go into Roverzilla this week.

the ABS system on the rangie is far more powerful than the 87's. replace the nitrogen-charged vacuum reservoir for about $200 and bleed the crap out of it. strong brakes.

3.9L is out... Just removed the BW Tcase, and pulling the LT230. Next we need to weld in motor mounts for the 3.9, tranny mounts into Roverzilla.

I always thought the V8 motor mounts are the same in all of the RRC years.

I believe they are putting the 3.9L into the 89 RRC which was formerly converted from the original 3.9L to a 300tdi. I'm having a little difficulty figuring out the plan for which pieces are going to which RRC to end up with two running models.

I'm guessing the 1990 is the one being scrapped?

Correct, Everything is going onto the one that used to have the 300TDI, because of this we need to install engine mounts and tranny mounts. This is what will become Roverzilla, a name play off of Frankenstein. I think it originally had the 3.4L in it, and now soon to have the 3.9L.

We HOPE to have two working Rovers out of the three, but its looking like we will only get Roverzilla at this point... time will tell.

Making Progress. We got the LT230 out and mated to the new drivetrain, brake master cylinder in, and started on prepping the frame for motor mounts.

Flying Wen got the headliner out..
