Well, we just got done cleaning up the engine and transmission and getting ready for paint. We wanted to attempt to go with "rover green" color on the engine, and we ended up with a "John Deer Green" color.

New driveline specs will be as follows:
Engine: 6.2L Detroit Diesel V8
Transmission: SM465 four-speed manual
Transfercase: New Process, NP205 (PTO ready)

Ok, so now to answer why all this? The RRC is going to a college kid, and we all know Rover Parts are expensive and replacement GM parts are easily available at a far cheaper price. In addition the mechanically driven pumps should prove to add reliability in the engine. Also the RRC is titled as a diesel from the 300tdi, and this should make licensing it a lot easier and cheaper.

Currently the 3.9L is being pulled from the RRC, while the 6.2L is being freshened up.

So, youre going with an NP205. Are you changing the rear axle to a centered style or are you running the driveshaft at an angle?

What are you doing about the centered rear output on the NP205? Also, what about radiator?

The Chevy radiator fits nicely... so nicely that when we were putting the 3.9L in it we accidentally grabbed the Chevy radiator and threw it in unknowing for about an hour.

The drive shaft will be at an angle... not sure what it will be until we get the motor mount in and start playing a bit more. (customer vehicles come first, and it has been too long since we have touched it.) At this point, Dusty (he just signed up as Roverlet) got the frame prepped for the motor mounts to be welded in.

Interesting, thanks. The 6.2 is a big motor so I cant imagine that you have much room to shift the motor mounts around much. Why didnt you go with a Cruiser transfer case to keep the offset drive? Adapters galore for that to go to just about any transmission.

Oh, also, what model Chevrolet radiator?

Nothing other than engine mount tacked into place... been busy in the shop and customer vehicles always come first.
