I expect to be there 5:45-6:00. We'll depart from our meeting about 6:15 or sooner if possible. There's a really good chance I'm going to want to shoot a few photos of the rigs cruising towards camp that first night. The light will be primo. I'll be quick. :)

No problem, I want to capture some shots myself. :smiley_drive: Time sounds good, see ya there.:088:

Re-cap:
  1. No permit needed; we're staying out of the bombing range
  2. Pskhaat is coming to meet us on Saturday morning
  3. The SWR has a new engine and may be meeting us
  4. Eurorom might be making the trip from El Paso

Any of that false?

Gracias

Hiya Mark.........

In all fairness, let's put the "SWR" in the maybe showing up box.

Yes.............new engine in and running very well...except my new sucky shop messed up my Overdrive!.....Again! In Fact!.......as I type, my truck is back at my new sucky shop and they are scratching their heads over my Overdrive, even though I TOLD them the fix! UG! I now think they are ALL sucky shops! (Still praying for Diesel....but maybe this time.....JEEP DIESEL!....HA!)

No.....my son probably won't be able to join me.

Yes......I would really like to join you all and it's the perfect reason to go check out my condo! And now I see the spot on the map and realize that is an area off the I-8 that I have looked over at for 30+ years and wondered what was out there!

No......I don't have anyone to help with him to let me leave unless a miracle happens!

OK......so do my yes's out do my no's........or is it a tie?

UG!:26_16_2:

I am assuming you take the "Vekol Road" Exit off the I-8............?

Ladies,

I regret to inform you that I may need to formally bail on you. I informally bailed on Articulate via PM, but with the wee one's surgury yesterday (he's doing well) it's unfortunately just pushing it too much.

I sincerely I hope I catch you all next time.

Sorry to hear about little one's surgery. :-( Glad he's doing well. You'll be missed. I hope to meet you on the next trip. :wavey:

well i don't know how early I'm going to be able to get out of work tomorrow, so i doubt i'll be able to meet you guys by 6:00, but i'm going to try.

If not, I'll do my best to find you guys. I don't have 2 meter and my CB decided it wanted to end its life last weekend (prick).

Any idea how far south you guys will make it before dark?

Load up! :safari-rig:

The desert's looking fresh, clean, and green. We'll be exploring some roads south of I-8. Here's a map of potential routes

I say since we are staying clear of the Goldwater range, we try for the orange tails on one day and the green another. Camp A looks pretty sweet... (N32° 44.1495' W112° 6.1871')

Map: Clicky...(not dial up friendly)

Here is some smaller GPS screen shots...

Proposed Camp Day 1: (It is allso the start of a foot trail, so their might be some good areas for us there)

Proposed Camp Day 2:

What do you guys think?

Oh sure...switch to the other side of the mountains at the last minute!

Acutualy we are meeting up by I8 & 84 before heading in so it doesn't matter to me. I have the entire area (well actualy the entire US) topos on my GPS so you lead the way and I'll follow, :safari-rig:

Just pick the initial campsite so Seth can find us if he can make it.:088:

My cell is 520-906-2821.

I just spoke with Wil on the phone. Can you believe that guy trying to horn in and make life difficult? The nerve. Nevertheless, we've come to an agreement: We will take Vekol Wash south and head towards Table Top mountain for camp. This is basically my original plan, except we're entering at the wash - this should be a surer bet that we can cruise south pretty quick. I'm not fond of switching up the plan . . . so we're going to have to teach Wil a lesson.

I checked out the area via Google Earth, and there are a ton of roads, but they look tight.

Seth is getting the info from Wil. No worries. At last resort: the pirate's code.
Brad, I'll copy down your cell phone just in case

There are a few things in life that make one proud. Earning a first paycheck, watching your kids be born, and making Al Walter roar his *ss off. Mission accomplished, fellas. Nice work!

Gotcha. Yes, Vekol Road south, then eastward to Table Top mountain on the first night.

We'll let it slip this time . . . except for that ladies part. All our best to the little one. Next time.
