Thinking about going to a Series III-???

Advance makes a SM465 to Series TC adapter? They never mentioned it to me... I probably would have gone that route instead of the Spicer 18. I thought the only option was a more or less custom adapter from guys like Timm or Ike, which isn't the easiest/most economical route for me.

Pick the drivetrain carefully. That crossmember behind the transfercase and the small engine compartment are big limiting factors that have to be considered with any swap. Compared to a Jeep, you don't have a lot of room to play with.

its due out in a month or two.

AA also sells the various Marks adapters.

Here's an even more outside the box idea... why not drop a 110 body on a FZJ80 Chasis. Cool old-school rover styling with all that stout overbuilt Toyota goodness underneath. I mean we are talking real "dream machine" here right ;) I am a HUGE diesel proponent, but there is a trade off and a large cost hump to get over with a conversion.

Whatever yuou do, I advise you to heed the advise you get here. nobody's trying to be an ************, but there is ALOT of knowledge and experience here that can save you time and heartbreak.

Cheers

AA pricing, not Rover pricing. Although if Alaska secedes, the tarriffs could be steep.

I thought we already had. I was told just yesterday by a sales rep that they didn't ship outside the US. Something about only have the US rights to sell a product. Suggested I try their Canadian dealer. I one-upped him and went to his biggest competitor.

Also recommend a shop in the Southeast(I'm in AL) if applicable. Any thoughts would be appreciated...

There is a small LR import specialist who has 90s, 110s, Series, LR3s, etc. in B-ham. I happened upon it quite by accident on a misty Sunday afternoon when I took a wrong turn while passing through town. He seemed to be a genuinely nice gentleman; he offered the keys to a diesel 110 even though he knew that I was only there to gawk at his selection of rare Rovers (naturally, I couldn't pass up the opportunity). If I can find his business card I'll post the name of the place; within my best, albeit hazy, recollection, it is within the area roughly defined by a few (2-10?) blocks East of I-65 and within a dozen or so blocks north of the UAB medical center. It's a must-see if you haven't yet been.
