2013: Your favorite image of the year?

We have some incredible photographers in this community. Lets see your best shot of 2013 (or more if you want, but be sure to call out your favorite).

2013 was an interesting year for me, photographically. So many new and challenging environments to capture, all with unique conditions to overcome. I enjoyed that the most - the difficulty of the shooting.

This shot means the most to me personally, being only 15 meters from such an incredible animal. Africa is very special to me, so this is my shot.

Took the old Astro to White Sands a few months ago. Not sure if it's the "best" of the year but I liked it.

Nice work! Being 15 meters from those guys would be an incredible experience.

My favorite outdoor shot I took this year. I have only been at it since July '12 when I bought my T2i and most of my photography the last few months has been indoors at concerts.

This was taken in August at High Rock Bay in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Pardon facebook's crappy compression.

I was lucky enough to do a lot of traveling this last year, so this was a difficult choice of only one. I visited southern Utah twice, Death Valley twice, the Sierra Nevada three times, Anza Borrego, and also took international trips to Scotland & Ireland, and several locations in China.

The one I eventually chose somewhat combines landscape photography along with travel photography. It was taken from the Stirling Castle in Scotland looking east at a large gap in the dark clouds that had been raining on us sporadically throughout the day.

I checked out some of your other landscapes. Absolutely beautiful work Aaron!

There is no way I can single out "the one and only" from a whole year of different times and places.

As this is favourite image and not 'best' image I choose this one.

Lunch at 4000m overlooking the Hindu Kush in Afghanistan in the Pamirs.

We spent 4 weeks travelling through Tajikistan with Adam (on the bike) and the 3 of us had a great time exploring and taking photos. 2013 was a massive year for us and Tajikistan was probably the highlight of 25 countries.

It's no where near the quality of photograph this thread deserves but it was one of the funnest weekends we had last year.
