Today was a big day. Picked up rims and tires. Got tongue box and ordered axles. Finally spent some real money although not much. I'd been going back and forth about rims and tires. Since the company that makes my 20" rims on the tow vehicle is out of business I had to hit craigslist. As much as I want aggressive "look" on the trailer tires I knew it was just for poser value since the trailer doesn't provide traction for the tow vehicle and didn't want to spend much money plus to go with with 6 bolt so I can just carry one spare for trailer and tow vehicle...choices choices choices. so last week I found an ad for 20" rims with BFG mud terrains with 50% tread and knew my choice was made. The guy wanted 200.00 for everything so now I have four rims and tires so spares will be abundant and at least 2-3 years of usage for the amount we go camping. Bigger thing was I wanted to black them out to match the tow vehicle but now that I see them next to the trailer I don't know. I was going to rhino line the trailer itself but I'm really digging the bare aluminum now and don't really care that it's scratched up a little. Heck it's an expedition trailer. Anyway what do you guys think? Keep the rim and trailer unpainted or match the tow vehicle?

Also used harbor freights 20% coupon and got the tongue box. Once the mounting frame is welded and trailer box is set to correct height it should cover the window perfectly
This is really getting exciting now. Axle is dexter 3500lb with 10" electric and should be here in about a week and a half.
For now the previous owner did a crazy concoction of welding a 2" coupler so I'll use it until I figure out what system I'll use in the end as I'm just super eager to get on the road
Anyway sadly tomorrow I have to start cranking on a cabinet job so the trailer won't get 100% of my time but I will still be able to work on it.
