I was going to comment that some Subaru dude is blocking the trail and making folks go around. LOL
Always amazes me how much travel Subaru seems to put into their suspension. Changing the oil in the two cars my wife and I had for years a 2001 VW jetta and a 2001 Legacy GT Limited side by side oil changing the Legacy sat lower than the VW but nearly maxed out my small floor jack trying to get the front wheels off the ground vs the VW not so much. LOL The GT was a blast on the dirt roads.
Good idea going down a size! That was the best off-road mod that I did other than skid plates. It's amazing what a little more sidewall flex does for traction. Not to mention when you air down it's a lot smoother ride!
Love how it looks with the lift. I've always thought lifted foresters look 'right'. They're just too low from the factory.
It looks so much better like this. May I ask how is your mileage and acceleration/braking affected?
Nice ride. Like the vid of you going up that steep dirt hill. You can really see the awd working!
Compilation video of the past year in the Forester:
Thanks for sharing. Im seriously thinking of lifting my grand vitara and it's similar drivetrain wise (4 speed, 160ish HP) so I'd take note of your experience with the Subaru.
Edit: I have exactly the same tire, same dimension. Did you tried them yet? I love them.
Some one get this guy Xmode. HA HA
The stuff I've seen the advanced modern traction hunting systems do is pretty amazing I bet you would be really amazed by the new Forester with the Xmode system.
No Problem! I wish I could lift it even higher without having to do any additional modifications, but I'm stuck here for now.
Still waiting to get my set of tires, I'll be trying them out in a couple of weeks. I ordered this one tire from another source (work) and got it faster than Discount Tire.
I've seen it in action and am super impressed with it. I'm glad that I at least have VDC, some of the older models (before 2007?) have no form of traction assistance other than maybe a limited slip rear diff.
Cool videos machine1 ! Your new lift seems to make a huge improvement too.
