They already get a variety 2 and 4 door Prado platforms (which the FJC is built on) in Australia. I'm guessing the Toyota thinks adding another variant of the Prado with more funk factor will sell. It probably will. While the FJC would probably cannibalize existing Prado sales to a degree, I would guess that it would attract additional younger buyers to their soft roader class of 4wds. If they were really serious about that market, they should have invested in an FJC model with a removable top.
I too can't disagree with the solid argument that they should bring the 70 series over here - as long as they ditch those crappy leafs from the rear....Okay, I may still buy one even with the leafs.
