FJ Cruiser debuts in Austraila

They already get a variety 2 and 4 door Prado platforms (which the FJC is built on) in Australia. I'm guessing the Toyota thinks adding another variant of the Prado with more funk factor will sell. It probably will. While the FJC would probably cannibalize existing Prado sales to a degree, I would guess that it would attract additional younger buyers to their soft roader class of 4wds. If they were really serious about that market, they should have invested in an FJC model with a removable top.

I too can't disagree with the solid argument that they should bring the 70 series over here - as long as they ditch those crappy leafs from the rear....Okay, I may still buy one even with the leafs.

Just bloody late, 5 years after relase in Latin America, but then it feels like for some companies we are at the ******** of the world (******** is british English for a-double-s in US-slang) - so we get some stuff only on it's way out...

Unrelated, but then again not: I just noticed that in Germany the Volkswagen Van Type 6 is out; here in OZ they just released the latest versions of the T5.

If they give us the 70-series or a Quad-Cab Diesel/manual Tranny Hillux's, I'll glady ship every last FJC to Australia... I'd even convert them to RHD for them to get the ball rolling :D

Cheers

I'll gladly help!

That's funny cause when I loved in AUstralia (near Biloella QLD) I noticed that ALL the "new" movies were like 3-years old in the states... I thought I was just jet-lagged for 2 years or something...

Main reason for the release here is to compete with the Jeep market which has increased significantly since the release of the 4 door JK. Pricing is good so has a good chance but if it had a diesel would be a much more desirable purchase

Supply of all imported toyota vehicles into Australia has been severely restricted.....FJ's will only be trickeling in.......
