I recently installed a Velit gasoline heater in my rig that is tapped into the trucks fuel tank.
Besides a couple hiccups with the unit which thankfully Velit was quick to support and help with it's been great.
For anyone not familiar with these units, it looks identical to a diesel heater but is tuned to run on gas ( or diesel with firmware update) It comes with a real thermostat unlike the CDH units you mostly see that are either on or off. It runs off a bluetooth app as well which has been pretty sweet to make adjustments from the comfort of bed.
I'm pretty happy with how clean and compact the install came out. I put it in the pass side bench and though the floor of the truck to run the fuel line, intake & exhaust using a 5' "turret"
I built a shelf over the top of the heater so I can store things on top in the bench still.
It's very cool to not have to plan on a heating fuel anymore, if the trucks got gas.. I have heat!
Here's a few pics
I have been looking at the gas versions, please come back and let us know how it is holding up.

HDPE is pretty tough. I'd bet you could stand on them without worry. I don't think they're that long. I guess it depends on your bed length but there would definitely be a gap between the back of the drawer and the front of my bed.

I have been looking for something like that for quite a while. Something other than the Decked system which is smaller, but this costs more than a full sized Decked , shipping is extra, and they tell you to use tie down straps that you can supply to hold in place?!?
I need something secure to keep rifles in the Decked system works.... but takes up the whole bed.

Love mine in my camper. Has ran flawlessly while camping at 10k’.

Is that 1 in insulation that you also put in the ceiling?

That is 1” rigid foam insulation in that photo. The ceiling can fit 1.5” which is what I installed. I first did 1" and then added 0.5". I used coroplast for the ceiling and due to the 1/8” thickness I used 1/4" insulation from amazon for the outermost bays so the coroplast did not sit below the outside rim with Velcro. I attached some photos of the process. More insulation more better. I stayed away from fabric on the interior for ease of cleaning/holding dust and not retaining moisture. I also got a ceiling/attic net from amazon that makes for great storage for lightweight items. I store the bug netting for the tailgate entry up there when it is not in use.

Still have a ton of planning to do, but pretty happy with where I have my wiring diagram so far. Any input would be appreciated!

Going to build my own battery box out of a tool box since I am just not happy with any of the traditional commercially available power stations. Was using a Ecoflow for the 6 month but luckily I bought it from Costco, so it's going back to fund my build lol.

Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Nice work on the schematic.
I had planned on building my own battery box as well, in the beginning.
However after deciding I wanted a portable unit to move between rigs or home use (when power is out), I settled on a National Luna product.
Extremely satisfied with the product!

Have fun with the build!
Cheers

That National Luna is definitely a bomber setup, but the price tag kills it for me.

This Renogy charger and this 200ah LIFEPO4 are my main price investment in the system I'm looking to build and I should be able to snag them for under $500 combined.

Picked up my OVRLND over Easter weekend! It's been such an upgrade from the fiberglass topper I had on before. I added a 200w solar panel to the roof with some 1515 extruded aluminum and tied it into an EcoFlow River Pro battery and a 12v fuse panel to run some lights, iceco cooler, and the maxxfan.View attachment 780646View attachment 780647
I see that you mounted a flat solar panel, not a flexible one. I was thinking about that option. Any problems mounting, and more importantly how has it held up in terms of wind stability and noise???
