    New $100 HIDs

I have 4 of the 4" from the Kragen/Shucks people, and I'm quite pleased. I have them mounted on my roof basket on the TJ, and I don't think I would have been happy with any other beam pattern. The lights do a great job. I may have to get a set of those hard covers though, although I have a set...

What is best tent for 30 people in snow and rain?

I remember snow camping in the Scouts in two man dome tents. That is what we did on a budget, do with what you had. You might contact Springbar, as they make good legacy equipment. They may have a product that works for your application, and they generally get good feedback. They cost more, and...

    Gordigear Rooftop Tent

I have been looking into this particular style of tenting, trailer tents, for a few years now, and this market is just now getting some attention here. I believe AT has a tent for trailers as well as Camping Lab, which are are both very attractive in thier own, and the vendors are very stand up...

School me on home-defense (gun related).

Agreed, but in a 5 to 6 foot hallway, your odd go up regardless of what you shoot. I'd just prefer lots of .32cal bbs going down range, then say 1 .45cal slug. Anyway you look at it, it equals no fun. I've been in the situation where I've waited for the breaking in to happen, (it was in...

School me on home-defense (gun related).

They'll have a hard time hearing it over the 110lb German Shepard and 50lb Malinios. I have no doubts about the dogs, as they do not have second thoughts, or remorse. I use the gun as a final out. I don't want to shoot my dogs either. If the intruder over comes the dogs, that person is going to...

School me on home-defense (gun related).

All these post and only one about the most intimedating sound in the world, the pump gun. I subscribe to the policy of two sets of sharp teeth next to the bed. I do have a pump gun in the closet, but as I grab...

    Dead Yellow top :(

I'm trying out a "yellow top" AGM type battery from east penn. I got the Battery from Batteries Plus on Stevens Creek in San Jose. It's Made by Deka, and it cost me $185 out the door. 2 year unconditional 3rd year pro rated warranty. I don't know how good it will be yet, as it is new. the...

two person cot? does it exist?

Nope, didn't find anything worth looking at. Came to the conclusion that it was either a traile style tent thingy or a really good camp pad. Mayne

Beauty of a Jeep. Your about the only other person other than me that runs that rack! (that I've seen.) I like mine, but with the basket the middle bar rattles and drives me crazy.

Inquiring minds really want to know. Any hints on how that thing goes together? Or a photo spread. We do want to see the whole truck, but I'm drooling over the fridge slide. Mayne

    Explorer 1 gets a Stroker!

Go figure. Looks like I'm running too new a Jeep to get away with it. I was looking at the tech sheets, and it looks like no dice for me. Although I here there is a company in New York doing paxton style super chargers. That would help when towing, but so would an 8cyl. I'm good enough with...

    Explorer 1 gets a Stroker!

How do you get around the smog issue? I would love more pulling power out of my TJ but as an 05 I'm concerned about getting around the Ca. smog details. Mayne

Part#'s for M416 bearings and seals?

The people at G503 forum may give you a good price for the axle, it's hard to tell. I have a 416 as well, and will do the same swap later. If you do keep it, the early cj5 (55ish) front axle bearings are the same part #s, if I'm not mistaken, you could pick them up from a jeep supply or NAPA. Mayne

    416 lug & hub dimensions

No luck in keeping the cost down, but if I remember right (beware here!) Dexter axle made a kit with p brake. It's on my home computer, so I'll have to check in about 8hrs. Mayne

    M416 Build

It can be done. I spent a week one deer season sleeping in the back of a chevy truck w/ no shell, no mattress, and no shade in the afternoon. I won't do it again. Thanks for the info on the tongue. I think that is the direction I'm headed. Mayne
