But there are so many other good, affordable products for the JKU. This drawer makes my custom 3 month drawer build seem stupid. Mine is bigger and still cheaper. But this has so many smart features. It's knocking ARB drawers off my build list.
Hopefully, we'll go drive some Rubicons this...
Wow! Thanks for the science. You guys are way more helpful than the wrangler forum or even my club's Facebook group. They're just giving me a hard time about selling.
The idea of top of cruising is probably better than actually doing it. I'm hoping removing the two panels, and maybe the doors...
Working on it! Even my penny pinching mom who loaned me money to buy my first 100 is on board. But my dad is flying in for a trip down to Baja in mid June. So I can't ditch the Land Cruiser until after that. I'm trying to get some folks lined up to maybe buy the bigger bolt on mods off of it so...
I hear that. I think at first you're out to prove to yourself that you can do it. I've done some pretty intense jobs on my 100. Everything short of engine work. Last night, I helped my friend replace an alternator on a beater Miata he just bought. Afterward, I just thought, I'm sick of doing...
There's been some discussion in the Klaus House about replacing the 100 with something new and smaller (better mpg, fits in parking decks). I'm trying to get a feel for if it's even worth selling it. So how much do you think it's worth?
I've owned this truck since April of 2013. I'm the third...
When my wife met me I owned a 96 civic with 160,000 miles that stopped turning left and was recently t-boned.
Then we got a 90k mile 100 series that was totaled in Death Valley a year later. Now we have a 180k mile 100. I feel a little bad that my car has always been a falling apart work in...
I actually just did the math on cost of ownership. The potential gas and repair savings almost make up for the entire payment cost.
$1200 savings in gas a year. If I was paying a shop, the 100 probably goes through about $2000 worth of work a year.
That's estimating that the 100 will need...
Haha. After making my own drawers, I'm totally down with buying. I'm more worried about someone stealing my dog than someone stealing the car. My friends dog was stolen from his yard last week, although it wasn't a GSD. Mine is only protective if we're with her.
You can get some of those bar...
I know! But I routinely go everywhere with my dog since she comes to work with me. Can't really leave her in a topless doorless Jeep while I'm at the gym... (It rarely gets above 70 here and the garage is underground. Calm down. She just naps the whole time).
There seem to be a few rip offs in...
Day to day, I don't notice wind. But driving across Utah and Nevada on the way back from Moab, I had the steering wheel locked at 2 o'clock to stay on the road. The 100 is more rounded but probably a similar surface area. There's a lot of sheet metal on 100s. The slightly smaller JKU might be...
I think it was weakened when he was rear ended. But there's a lot more force involved in an accident than when towing. My first 100 was totalled when I ran into BlueCruiser's steel rear bumper in a dust cloud. I wonder what would have happened if I'd had the slee front bumper on at the time.
Yeah. I've run airbags in my 100. Not a fan. I've never completed a trail without one of them ripping the airline out on articulation. Most of my rear load is constant with the drawers and recovery gear staying in the truck. So I've opted to just running stiffer rear springs.
My issue isn't...
Nice, yeah that is basically my plan but in a different color. Ha.
I'm not super impressed with OME's products. My rear shocks corroded quickly, the bushings squeak, and the ride is pretty harsh unless you're really loaded down. Fully loaded up going fast across washboards seems to be what it's...
