    Post Pic's of your Jeep

Ready to run Titus Canyon. Waiting for bats in Titus Canyon. Over the hills and through the woods to Thanksgiving dinner in Stovepipe Wells. Approaching Chicken Rock which we did without incident in a stock JKUR with a first time spotter.

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

Interesting article. Thanks for posting. I wonder if the independent suspension rigs like the Grand Cherokee and LR4 will prove us all wrong and turn into great platforms. If modifications were taken into consideration the list would look a little different. But in stock form, this list seems right.

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

That's interesting. After wheeling such a heavy, stiff rig for so long, I don't mind stiff suspension as long as I'm not lifting wheels unnecessarily or snapping sway bar links. I just read about AEVs shocks being too soft now. Must've very subjective. I'm trying to avoid the hassle of remote...

That wouldn't solve the current issues. Break over angle (even 35s only improve break over by 1.5" at most). Cargo/load capacity High speed highway/ trail swaying. I've heard that the AEV shocks are overly stuff. Maybe that's where the fox shocks come in.

They had 2 or 3 of them. They sold one before I got there. There might have been one left. But it also might have been anvil color.

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

I forwarded the email conversation to northridge who have been brokering this return. They said I shouldn't have to pay shipping charges. So we'll see. We didn't go into that much detail. I said I was looking for 1" lift, maintain factory rake and have a stiffer rear spring rate to handle...

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

Half the price of a new one. I looked into that before buying a Jeep. It'd cost about $30,000 to restore a clean 80, do an engine swap and outfit it for hard wheeling. If the 200 is not an off road truck than neither is the 100-Series. IT's kind of silly. None of the current Land Cruisers are...

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

What I've learned so far is that there were very few Land Cruiser options. Among those options a few were crap and everyone knew it. And the rest were expensive but good. In Jeep world there's everything under the sun. Some of it is good but most of it is cheap chinese crap. So it's hard to...

With the stock 60 rear springs and almost the same load it sat slightly lower in the rear. But the Teraflex's seemed worse. Possibly because they're linear springs. I didn't know that TJM made 1.5" springs, interesting.

Front Runner flip pop tent - anyone use or have one?

I have one. I used it to camp along the Colorado river in Moab and my brother just used it in Death Valley. Like others have said, it's pretty small inside. Best for 1 person and a dog. Or maybe a smaller couple. I haven't tried putting 2 people in it yet. The double layers keep it pretty warm...

    Expedition fridge

I've had the ARB, had to sell it. Replaced it with a Waeco CF50 for $300 less. My understanding is that Waeco/Dometic, makes the ARB fridges. The compressor, electronics and internals are the same as the ARB but with a different reversible lid design and the addition of an emergency mode that...

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

There are other advantages to coil springs. For most 100-Series front suspension set ups, the shock is the droop limiter, not the UCA. You can get maybe another inch with longer shocks and UCAs, but then you run the risk of blowing your UCA ball joint and having to run a custom set up with...

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

That's all true. Going with skinny 34s solves a lot of those issues. 285/75/17s are a great compromise but then you have to pay to find 17s that fit the 100's odd bolt pattern.

I don't think I hit it. But I was planning on relocating it. My friend had the protek skids and loves them. I keep hitting the transmission crossmember. And the proteks help protect that.

Mine is a diamond. That might be true. The mount is pretty extensive. Maybe creating a ground is more for CB.

"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

If you've been reading this thread, and I hope you have, you know I've been trying to figure out what to do with the suspension. After talking to Teraflex extensively, I swapped in some front 2dr 1.5" coil springs and some rear 4dr 1.5" coil springs. This was supposed to give me a 1" lift front...

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

Part of it is the power delivery. It's a slow build at low RPM like a Rolls Royce. My wife's Elantra felt fast (It's not) compared to the 100. And my JK feels like a sports car by comparison. ha

Educate me: 100 vs 200 series to replace my jeeps

There's enough room to sleep if you have drawers or a sleeping platform to make the floor level. Like the 100 and 80, The second row doesn't fold flat. The 200 is a tad bigger than the 100. But not enough to make much of a difference. If the trail is that tight, you'd be nervous in either...
